Spray wheels grey or black and you will be able to suffer them for a little while longer! i dunno what you guys are on about .... the standard spazda wheels are fine .... ive seen a lot worse wheels on the mx-5 trust .... what you do need however is a eunos rear plate surround (if you haven't got it already) and an offest front import plate

Wheels look great, was gonna get a set of mine but too many Lotus reps run them. I'd go the opposite of Eunos bits. Make it as UKDM as possible..

Just popped over to MX5city, local place that sells MX5s and bits. Mainly to size the place up, see what the guy was like. Came home with this: ![](http://leglard.com/img/images/forum/IMG_0466.JPG) Full stainless system, tailpipe is a bit on the big side but I didn't pay a lot over scrap money for it. Perhaps not ideal, but not far from what I was wanting (the same, but with maybe 3cm smaller tailpipe) Thumbs up for MX5city, pretty helpful bloke - Told me what I needed to get the heated rear window going, and gave me a free foglight switch to bodge in. He laughed at my wheels though ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Good lad ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) No not yet, been away since. Trial fit this weekend to size up for tyres. Woop! I'd stick 185/45/15s up front and keep the 195/50s on the back. On another note I just cleaned the exhaust up and found out it's a HKS Super Dragger! Dead happy with that purchase ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I've got a load of old stainless steel display backboxes if you want a tip to weld on.

I've got a load of old stainless steel display backboxes if you want a tip to weld on. Matt Those from 'frauds? I bought a few of them cheap and ended up flogging them, never even realised they were completely hollow until months after. I bet they were loud! I'll bear it in mind, cheers. I'm gonna lob it on tomorrow and see how it looks, it might not look so massive when it's on the car (who am I kidding?)

There seems to be a lot of hate of 16" rims from a lot of MX5 owners along with a general hate of lowered 5's but I think it is them who are missing out. Based on that comment you can probably guess what wheels I picked up on Tuesday ;D From a strictly functional point of view, 15s and a moderate drop (~320mm wheel centre to arch IIRC) works best. MX peeps take their handling seriously. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

And they have fabolous hair ;D Haha, not me, its terrible. The car looked like this: ![](http://leglard.com/img/images/forum/IMG_0469.JPG) for about half a day last week. I fitted the exhaust. It took ages due to my car being a bit of an oddball. Got all the old stuff off to find the new decat fitted my downpipe, but came off at an odd angle. After much confusion, fiddling about and eventually realising the problem, I got a lift down to MX5city and it turned out I needed a downpipe off a 1.8 import MX5. Luckily, they had one in, and gave me the thing for free. Lovely stuff. After that, it went on easy enough (apart from tearing the threads off the lambda sensor when we had to use a blowtorch, stilsons and 6 feet of scaffold bar to the the curse word out!) It's transformed the car - It feels like it has about 10/15bhp more. I don't think it's freed up a lot of HP over stock, but I think the old thing was holding it back quite a lot. It's also surprisingly quiet, infact perhaps slightly too quiet. Dead happy overall though! I need to find a new bolt for the alternator now - I adjusted it the other day at my mates house, and did my usual thing of loosening the "lock" bolt, winding some tension on and then forgetting to tighten the locking bolt again. Que a funny clank while driving home down some dark country lanes in the ![](http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/underwire/2009/11/fox_60.jpg) end of nowhere and the alternator belt starting to slip it's tits off. Whoops! At least the whole thing didn't swing down and spit the belt completely off like it did the time I was let near my mates alternator, haha. Anyway, here's an absolutely "top quality" ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) photo I took the other night. I really need to give the car a wash and borrow a decent camera and tripod, cos it looks so much better in the flesh than on these pictures! ![](http://leglard.com/img/images/forum/IMG_0473.JPG)
