This is what I love about retro rides. Another car I didn't know existed. I really like it. Perfect colour as well. Any idea what the other things on the transporter are? The top one looks like a Capri and the bottom one looks like 2 door Aston Martin Lagonda. Spot on ... and both of the other cars on the rig are still going ..... and there was a one off VW Scirocco that attended the 83 show , this however there is no trace on it

The 2 door Lagonda , I was told that this one off was a factory car fabricated by Tickford for Aston Martin ...... It remains the only one

These pictures and details REALLY need to be on Keith Adam's site AROnline (which I am sure you'll be aware of) - there's a page about the Tickfords and other Metro conversions and these are the best pictures I've seen of one. If you were local I'd offer to do some proper studio shots of the car for documenting it (just got an Elinchrom Ranger RX kit so can do location shots, but am somewhat busy).

Thanks for your offer I have made arrangements for it to be featured in a MG mag and the shoot should be in September so hopefully a good set of pics will be on record , I have a posting on ARO and Keith has asked for it to be featured .... not that I know what he wants , but I am obliging ... soon lol

Hi,Just general stuff really,is there a website for the club?,cheers. Try The Tickford owners club ,there is a site for the Tickfords but it has not been updated for 15 years and is a little out of date. The kits for Aston Martin Tickfords were designed by Mr Simon Saunders of the Ariel Atom fame attached is a rare copy of his vision for the Metro note there are some differences between this and the finished car

dikki think i was just talking to the bloke who owned the motor show car thats if it came from the sheffield area, the firm i worked for rebuilt the engine many years ago. I was trying to buy the car off the bloke but he told me he sold it to a pal who robbed the engine and scrapped the car. Glad someone saved it.
