sorry my first post is a forsale thread but been told this is the best place to come, I also have nova's and a manta project so will be using the forum in the future,
I have aquired a 1958 ford escort 100e estate for restoration, has been sat in a dry garage for 40 years uptill last week when I pulled it out....
good points...
car is 99% complete and original
back arches and boot floor are solid
seats are in nice condition will probably be like new with a decent clean (back seats are like new!!)
original wheels with all hub caps and trim etc
has original and extremly rare front 'hood' above
windscreen
engine is top end seized but bottom end is good so would most probably free up after a weeks soak in diesel in the bores
this car is so 'in-tact' its amazing, even parts like all the badges, grill starting handle and spot lamp and all re-fubable just look tired.
Bad points
sills are rotten as are the out-riggers on the chasis but main chasis is SOLID
front wings need replacing as does the scuttle panel, front floor isnt to good either
towards the rear of the car the guttering has rotted at the end and made a hole in the side of the roof however the area around it is solid.
the car does have its fair share of rot and bearing in mind its been stood for 40 years its survied well.
Will post up some pictures tomorrow, open to offers on this and I can almost garentee you wont find another forsale especially the rare estate version like this.
