Thought it was about time I introduced my new daily. Bought from Westway on here I got it MOT'd and up and running last week. So far I have polished it up a bit and given the inside a quick clean. I have fitted a replacement window motor, column trim and passenger side mirror. Mechanically I got a hydraulic leak fixed for the MOT and since then I have changed the oil and filter, the air filter, the fuel filter, fitted a full set of new wiper blades and checked the front pads as the wear indicator light flashed on. This turned out to be faulty wear indicator wires so I removed them. Next things on the agenda are a cambelt change and a replacement speedo cable. Then there are a few oil leaks to fix. Pictures of how she looks now............

Snap I have the same car in Red! I can't say its strictly retro as its a clever, tidy and long running design, and such a lovely 'together' car. Its ace, love mine. Definately a classic though, I want another!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm loving mine too! It runs on fresh air and is a nice comfy car to cruise about in.

Hehe I used to have an L reg 1.9TD in white.
Mine was a bit of a dog though, it smoked on start up, clutch sometimes slipped but on the whole was nice and reliable and cheap. And low!

nice!
The advantage of the earlier Xanyia without the anti sink sphere is that it looks nice and slammed when it's parked, but travels at a "sensible" height with the motor running.

Cambelt now done! Fitted a new rocker cover gasket which appears to have cured the worst of the oil leaks. Did it's first major trip this week to Manchester and back with no problems.
So far so good........

Looks really nice! I've just sold my Xantia 2.0 VSX. After seeing this, I'm really regretting it now .

To me, Xantia is best looking Citroen ever! I wish Citoren made WRC cars out of this shape!

i had one of these a 1.9 diesel no turbo went fairly well but never knew why they had the settings with the suspension as lowering it to the floor used to make it bounce arround and did the same if you wacked it up to the highest setting.
still love the shape and would have another one again but would junk the suspension and maybe put 405 suspension

It isn't some form of lowrider you have. The suspension at top and bottom settings is at its max or minimum and there is no travel as a result, hence the bouncing. The settings for driving are the two middle ones (and the top of those only for slow travel over rough ground). Bottom setting is so you can depressurise the system to fit new suspension spheres and work on the hydraulics, top is for changing wheels. A Citroen isn't for driving round at low or top - it's a supremely comfortable car with an oleopneumatic suspension designed to smooth out the road surface, not a cheap way of getting a lowered car.

Well said that man above ;D No photos but today I bought and fitted a good set of secondhand headlights from my local scrappy. The old ones had reflectors which were pretty much useless. Now the dark evenings are arriving I should be able to see where I'm going! Not only that the shiny headlights make the car look better!

Next headlamp upgrade! Fitted a H1 HID conversion kit to the dipped beam headlamps tonight. No photos just yet but I will take some over the next few days.
Looks a bit strange on main beam at the mo there is a big difference between the old and the new. in fact I'm just off for a test drive so I might just take a few photos now!
Just ordered another kit off ebay tonight to do the main beam.
Finally a question. what to do with the sidelamp bulbs? They look rather out of place as you will see on the photos......

Good idea! OK photo update. photos have not come out too well but hopefully you will get the idea: Dip beam (HID) With the main beam (halogen) also on On the road the view from the drivers seat on dip beam (I was parked up) And the same on main beam On the road the difference is unbelievable! It is like driving in daylight There is also much less difference between dip and main beam. The main beam just adds a yellow tinge to the light. Can't wait for the other kit to arrive for the main beam ;D ;D

Vey minor update! Managed to figure out how to programme the spare key I picked up some time ago tonight and it was a success. Finally I have remote central locking which works properly!
Now i just need to pick up another key fob in good condition to programme so I have a spare.

What a day! Started replacing the speedo cable a dash out job Got the cable fitted and the dash back in but unfortunately I currently have no headlights, indicators or heater blower The best bit is that the speedo still doesn't work However the cable is turning so I think it is just that it is not located in the back of the speedo head correctly Hopefully tomorrow I will get the issues sorted so I can drive the car again! The HID kit arrived today too so I'm itching to get that fitted.
