It doesn't want slamming, it wants some serious rake and some wide rubber on the back, rather like this. I'm disappointed that it isn't a Rat MGB (imagine a post-apocalyptic 1960s British countryside, roadster strapped up with all manner of curse word), but I am impressed that someone has finally had the balls to do something interesting to an MG.

Yeah it's nice to see something different with an MGB alright. They are cars I never liked but now I find I own a roadster and possibly next week will have a '67 MGB GT to add to that.
The reason I have turned on to them is exactly as you say - I want to do something diffreent with them - hence why I trawl teh net looking for ideas.
Current thoughts for teh roadster are:
making it as lightweight as possible but strengthened with some hidden roll cage touches in the sills and centre tunnel possibly tied into 2 roll over hoops behind the seats.
Modern 4 pot engine (I know it has been done before but I am currently thinking K series to stay with the family)
5 speed box
Modern suspension set up - currently thinking about compllete MX5 front and rear set ups. I want this to handle well.
Interior with influencess from the Mazda MX5 speedster concept (google it)
Body wise it will be getting some sort of wide arches - preferably in steel or aluminium - probably not Sebring ones as these just don't look right to me especially at the front.
What do you think?

I like it. Its not rat but I think it likely looks the way the guy wanted it to. Nice to see one with smooth bumpers! Hiding indicators in the grille and getting rid of the big sidelight/indicator units would be good.

I don't think it's so bad, just not done very well. It needs something doing with the chrome, doesnt look right having the mixture of the red wheels but chrome knockoffs, along with the other chrome bits and then the white on the whitewalls and cream hood.
Pinstriping looks a bit crappy, but then it always does.

I'd like to see it with the roof off, think that'd then look pretty badass.
I hated it at first, but after a couple of minutes it really started growing on me...also.. love the pinstriping.

What do you think? forget K series, go for the T series, esp in turbo guise

The T-series wouldn't be that readily available over here but I'd say it is a big heavy old lump anyway.
I want to keep it normally aspirated. I know the K series has a bad rep but reading up on it, it's an engine with a lot of potential.
t-series to me is a generation older. Only real advantage I see is it would probably bolt up to the MG box but I'm not using that anyway.
If I don't use a K series my other choices in mind are the Zetec SE from the Puma or maybe a Duratec (Yes there is a common theme here - all have alloy blocks - power to weight is always at the back of my mind.)

I like the MGB quite a lot. I reckon 2" out of the front springs for a bit of nose-down rake and it would be excellent.

Hot-rod inspired MG you say? (rat-rod? errr..) Have we all forgotten about this: Dr. Sexy's hot-rod inspired MG Midget ;D I can't find any more recent pics for some reason but it's now sporting whitewalls and gloss black flames over the satin

What's going on with the lines where it's been shaved of the chrome side trim? There's a swage line on the front wing but not really on the door or back wing? Is it the angle of the photo?
IMO, it's OK, but could be improved with a better stance & a few more rod touches like the lights being frneched or something?

Quick and dirty lowering job. I don't really like MGBs that much but this one is strangely appealing.
