Hi there, well as I'm in the middle of renovating a house my plan for a tax exempt is flying out the window fast! Obviously I'm still coming to the gathering although I wanted the opinions of all as to whether my car of youth (which i don't have the heart to sell) would be apropriate to bring along, or will it just get snubbed! What are your thaughts....and no I'm not a chav!! Cheers Rich

Not what would normally be considered that suitable, though very much reminds me of the Max Power cars of the late 90's - but I'll leave it to those involved in the show to say yay or nay! Show field wise the rules state pre 1990 only on the show field, with the exception of club stands, so I'd say you need to be on a club stand to get on the show field. Otherwise I believe there will be a section for more modern stuff in the normal car park. Anyway, where ever you might end up parking it doesn't matter, just get yourself down the show, by the time you leave I'll bet you want something a little more retro in your life

as pheonixescort said, cars on the show field are all pre-1990. In something mid 90's you will be directed to the day parking/museum parking field. Sorry, we have to draw the line somewhere.

^^ I think you'll find the question regarding the Cav at the start was more of a would my car be suitable to display, not a can i come and display. chap's name is rich and he was with us, Flipped out Kustoms, last year but this year hasn't got his mother in laws car to 'adjustsuitably' So really it's a I was gonna bring the 90's max power machine, shall I or will I just be removed with force? lol. Does that make sense?

This is true, if there is anyone willing to take the flipped out kustoms boys we would be interested, although it would mean having the 90 max power machine with you!!

^^^ No I'd say that RR isn't that sort of place, and its not that sort of show! But you may have to have tough skin for some peoples comments that are bound to be floating around if you listen out for them. My advise is bring it, park it wherever you're asked, and enjoy the show. It might not be to everyone's taste, but its still a modified car, and it has almost certainly taken a fair amount of work and effort to get to its current state. And if its got an XE 2.0 motor in it I approve of the running gear totally Hey if you were up for it I be it could be given a retro rides make over across the weekend so it could fit in more! Looking at it you could "retro" it a fair amount with nothing but bolt on parts, e.g. some bumpers, wide steels, mebbe some while banded tyres! Theres a scrap yard run on Sat, you could have a Saturday afternoon making a bolt on "rat" car just for the show. But then that the sort of crazy talk that you'd only get here. But lets be honest, you ride, your way, and if you like it, then there is bound to be someone else around who loves it just the way it is

I'm having a new front end painted this week so il get that on the front and have a better look then! It has also got good 2.0 xe under the bonnet with quite a few tweakes so the track action should be interesting aothough it is a front wheel drive I'm afraid!! hopefully see you there!

I know it's a tight little track but I'm not totally convinced that FWD is unbeatable. 2. Not taking anything away from any of the top runners I was pretty sure a little MG Midget had the potential to take the top prize had he had a little more practice - not to mention your performance could no doubt have been even quicker time wise if the escort was pointing in the dirrection of the circuit layout rather than 90 degs to it most of the time. It will be interesting to see what reversing the track direction does to FWD v RWD - my personal opinion is it will level the playing field Oh and colon elk will probably provide some stunning sideways action at some stage in the day so why don't you keep it tidy for a few laps
