If volkswagens are so cool why don't people on VZI talk about them more? just scrolled down the subjects and it's all "my dog farts", "this cat drinks beer", "these tickets are on sale" and "have you seen this film" God I love Retro-rides!! On a positive note.... Heres a much better site for VWs www2.cal-look.com/nostalgia/pics.htmlwww2.cal-look.com

Stuy, Love those pics. Only one is a VW powered VW though! You ever see Pete Engelzoes (or something like that...) Fiat run? Awesome car.

I like a bit of cross-pollenation myself (makes the buffers squirm ;D ;D).....It's the fiat with the flat four isn't it?

To be fair Volkszone has its place - Many people on VZi see the VW scene as something that goes beyond the cars themselves and there are alot of people who make good friendships & hence like to talk about other things (besides theres a limit to how much you can talk soully [sp?] about VWs ) Which is why its great to have forums like this one - that way theres something for everyone Nice pics - BTW I think the Ghia is now based in the UK

cal look.com is a real good website, and the nostalgia section is especially well put together. Pete the greeks fiat rules, i never tire of seeing that thing run! Seth, i presume you have seen his antics down the ace before then?

Plus, venting my stupidity there stops me from doing it here and getting barred for off-topic drivel/nonsense ;D

Back in the day when I used to have a squareback I loved the VW shows etc, but after a while I started to see that "one make shows makes one make hoes!" Everybody is desperate to be an individual but Won't get out of the box unless somebody cooler has tested the water. Result, that after a few years in the motoring abyss I bought something that I personaly liked and modified in a way that I wanted. Not long after I found you guys and I'm hooked.

i'll try and keep this back on topic, and i don't wanna get into a conversation about it cos it'll only wind me up ;D Its enough to say i think the 'place' has gone drastically downhill which is a shame.

OT - Liking the comment under your avatar Darren On here or on there? ;D On there it's obviously a play on "self abuser", I laugh lots at some of the comments people make sometimes, and can't help but playfully nudge people that deserve it ;D Seefieber! WOO! (that's a Woerthersee Tour reference, as is "Der See Ruft" for those that don't know. You see it on stickers/written in the back windows of VWs cruising across the continent for the show )

Looking through my photobucket account I found this; which I took a few years ago at a VWAction show (I think? RK might remember). Wonder where it is now?

I was thinking about this before, for a lot of us its the obvious scenes that draws us in to the stuff we like, VW's Fords, hot rods, Mini's etc, Not a bad thing really, i am surprised i havent seen more rare VW's like keefys though, maybe am not looking hard enough... here goes then, on with the show... would like a bug a bit like this: unreal 411

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

its always nice to see something different - just such a shame when the 'attention to detail' is missing
