Ian - It looks like some cheeky sod has dumped a scrap radiator & intercooler on your nice shiny transporter -lol Before I go to the expense of some shiny new kit let's see if the 250,000 mile old kit will do the job Ian - I take it that you don't have enough depth in order to mount the intercooler just in front of radiator ? (pretty common setup on a lot of vehicles) Not as such. We did consider spacing the grille out but this is more efficient and I would only have to remove the rad to replace the alternator belt.

I'm not sure masking tape will handle the high speeds the truck will make going down a hill with no brakes, you'd best secure it a bit better. That's best Chinese carbon fibre masking tape, reinforced with Unobtaniun strands at 25p a roll off Ebay

Will you be at Goodwood Festival of Speed this year? Nope but we 'hopefully' will be at the Members Vehicle Display on 6th August. This is a free day at Goodwood and is open to the public. The best of the applicants get to display in front of the house and the car park is pretty interesting too. If we get to Goodwood without trauma then the next jaunt is RRG17. You best start compiling a quest list and adding some seats... I noticed this lil gem when i was looking for the dates. (unfortunately i'm away that weekend... ) Do I have to be a Member to attend? Yes, this is a GRRC Members’ event. Guests are permitted to attend so long as they are accompanied by a Member. There is no limit to the number of guests any one Member can bring.

Thanks for that. It has been open in the past, certainly when the Healey was chosen back in 2012. We've got 5 seats in the cab and two in the 2CV if anyone wants to come.

Ian - re the alternator belt on my old AEC 760 engined transporter we would have had the same problem - i.e. remove the rad to fit a new belt - never fancied doing this roadside so at the suggestion of a wise old sage made up 3 small L brackets and used existing front cover bolts to fasten them into place - the L brackets had a small hole in them - through which a tie wrap went in order to secure a spare belt against the engine which meant when the belt went (and it did whilst in Holland) - it was a 10 min fix just to clip the tie wraps slot the belt over the pulleys and adjust the belt tension - spare belt could be replaced again when we got back home and had time to remove the rad etc

For anyone holding their breath and hoping to see us at Goodwood or RRG17; BREATHE NOW! We're entering the Twilight Zone of Uncertainty where the last 3% (estimated) of a build takes orders of magnitude longer than one would expect. Just finishing bits now but it's untested, needs a shakedown cruise, an MOT from VOSA and various other tweaks. We have a slow leak on one of the rear bags which we just can't find A lot of the work is now Dangerous specific and he's doing it while I'm at work hence no photos and to compound everything his dad, Maurice, who did a 16 hour day to finish the cab interior before the last trip to Goodwood and is definitely part of the team, has just been diagnosed with the Big C and before they can operate on that will need a triple heart bypass and a new heart valve. Dangerous is understandably somewhat distracted so I've said family first and hang the build. Will we get it on the road this summer? Que sera, sera and any positive vibes you can send for Maurice will be much appreciated

You're so right, family 1st. Please pass on our best wishes to Maurice! Huge commitment to the Team from him; besides, anyone 'responsible' for Dangerous has got to be really cool The build will come together when it's meant to...

Your petrol Goddess probably got 8-10mpg with a 27 gallon tank. Also we carry a 5 gallon jerrycan of spare fuel at all times, just in case.
