Frankenhealey, you are my hero and have been my inspiration I have been lurking here for two years as a guest and have read this whole forum "cover to cover" at least three times before attempting my conversion (I'm hoping to also dodge the fatwa on the grounds of my GG being even more rotten than yours...) Joe Extremely kind words, thanks! I wish you all the best on your conversion. I take it that it's a food truck? Are you keeping the Bedford petrol? Cheers, Ian

Yup, bought it with the double lights.
Also, the municipal fire department that owned it before must have fitted the Perkins six pot diesel that starts on the button, even after months idle! They seem to have done a good job too.
I have been too lazy to write down my experiences, so I am very weary of hijacking this thread, but there are some more pictures below...

May I say that my admiration has no bounds and I only wish I'd found your truck with the Perkins in it first

At momentous times like this I ask myself what the Bard would say and he says There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures. The subject The spaghetti The Godzilla of batteries The alternator with oil feed and return IT LIVES !!!!!! A small celebration later

Not that this is a performance engine, but on a recent Engine Masters, viscous coupling fans and steel fans were shown to sap about 30hp from the engine. If it were me, I'd go thermo fans..

Keep putting all that power in the Bedford, and it will soon be quicker than the Healey Bends might be interesting though .....as well as trying to keep it in a straight line .... Bends will be taken à la Driving Miss Daisy as it's tall and narrow, large gaps will be maintained between us and the vehicle in front. For prats cutting-in I will have a dashcam for evidence later in court. Brake-checking me will be tantamount to a death wish. All I want is to maintain a reasonable average speed on a journey when on major roads/dual carriageways. And I should add that to avoid any legal trouble she will be MOT'd so I can carry loads legally with VOSA's blessing.
