How's about some that are a little more in-keeping with the style of the vehicle? Little bit more glass, little bit more chrome? I know they're not a popular thing, but if they gotta be there? Chevy truck side markers? (Bonus reflector integrated) Generic trailer markers? --Phil Off to the USA in 2 weeks so can bring some back for you James

Is there a minimum size requirement for them?
If not then some clear 10mm(amber when lit) LED's would work but would be invisible when not in use.

How about little 3/4" circular ones? We have them in some of our trucks, they are boat trailer rated also which is nice. Grommet fitment. $1.50 each, too. Phil

Need to check the regs but suspect it would be the amber I'd have to have

They are supposed to bear the correct approval markings (EU, SAE or JDM) , or be oem parts, not sure this would ever be pulled on an MOT though.

The trailer light ones are SAE marked. The Chevy ones probably carry SAE/DOT stamps too.

The Weekender is dead to me The Goddess is ready but SWMBO's foot not good enough to go and as the Beach Boys would have it "It wouldn't be right. To leave your best girl home on a Saturday night" plus #1 Son also has health issues that mean I can't be more than an hour from home and Goodwood is 3 hours away in a 1950's truck. Pitstop will be there in the Raid Dolly representing Team Frankenhealey. Bumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbumbum!

With SWMBO's foot healing well, fractures knitted but soft tissue trauma will take another 4-6 months according to the consultant, I decided it was time to stretch the Goddess' legs. First order of business a wash and brush up. This means I need a 60 metre extension lead and a 60 metre hosereel just the get the jetwash in the same vicinity as the truck. The leccy supply comes in handy for the 3hp compressor needed to check the tyre pressures and boost the rear bags. That took most of Saturday afternoon then it was check the fluids and grease the linkages Three bottles should do on past experience BUT.... the proper tracta joint oil seals have cut leakage to virtually nothing and just half a bottle on a prophylactic topup of front and rear axles. I've got a nice set of unused leather seals if anyone wants them? While under the beast a quick visual check to make sure none of the systems have dropped off or been stolen A spruce up of the cab followed. I even washed off the 'lucky' sparrow curse word off the engine cover from the days that birds nested in the loosely connected spars of rotten ash that was once the cab. Pulling the drivers door closed for the evening the 63 year old leather on the pullstrap gave up the ghost. I can find someone to recover it or might be able to locate some NOS stock. Sunday morning dawned and Rob turned up to be banksman for the day and help with the loading/unloading Doing the tilt trick. Yay, the hydraulics till work! Connect up the Healey for the big pull and the winch still works. Another YAY! Safely aboard. Just twenty minutes of swearing at ratchet straps. Put in 30 quid's worth of diesel and then just a cool, calm and collected 12 mile drive to a park for the opportunity to eat hotdogs, sit in the sun, talk to people about their cars and be considered for vehicle of the show. Did we win? Nope, the judge was some local meedja type who I probably upset by answering his inane questions in a similar vein. The winner was a worthy self-restored Jaaaagggg Mk 2 in the end. 5 hours later and the ennui was setting in so we left in the busy Sunday holiday traffic. Getting on to roundabouts was interesting, waiting for a gap became 'I'm coming out because I'm bigger than you'. We took a slightly different route back which took us through a dual-carriageway underpass. This underpass is so big that there is a skate park on one side and the little tykes that inhabit it obviously wanted to practice their hand gestures at two old farts driving a big old lorry so I let them share the joy of the firetruck horn in the very large reverberating space. I couldn't see as as usual I am sawing at the wheel trying to keep on the road at 40mph but Rob swears that jaws dropped, palms were rammed over ears and the ugliest one sh@t himself. It's wishful thinking I know but leave us to our fantasies

Its a great looking combination! can you not use a leather belt cut into suitable lengths for the door pulls?

Tarting the old girl up for the long & lonely drive to the Gathering and I considered sticking on a 'Powered by CUMMINS' badge but then I found a little something in the USA which adequately describes the zen journeying of the Goddess. If you see a Sperm Whale and a bowl of Petunias by the side of the M40 in a couple of weeks time you will know it worked
