Is it not allowed to drive on grass? As OP said, this stuff is heavy and while it is designed with it in mind it wasn't designed with the field in mind I tow started our RL GS when the ring gear fell off the flywheel in the very damp field. It made a hell of a mess. We have a few 'outside' trucks we haven't been able to move from being sat in one place too long as they were on low ground and have sank. Anyway, back to the Bedford, could the lever for the 4wd not be extended? I think given the angles I recall them working at it would be very difficult but I've also looked at the size of a Cummins compared to an RL engine bay and that looked 'difficult' and you managed, so you know.. Sod's law when you do want it it'll be all horrible and muddy and climbing underneath won't seem such a nice idea

Or could it not be extended sideways, so as to come out just under the body. save you climbing underneath.
Don't know the setup, or if it's possible.

Scrote steals Goddess and the getaway can never be faster than a milk float on steroids

Why not just put it in low 4-wd before you move it off the dry(ish) hump? It’ll just trickle out on tickover with those big tyres you have on it.

Firstly 6-8 inch trenches in the grass plus the Goodyear G388's are mucho road biased unlike the bar treads they replaced. I've got your 12V/24V changeover relay boxed up but lost your address. PM it to me please.

I’d be staggered if you actually got stuck anywhere with them. I’ll PM you my address now. Ta very much. 👍

Depends on how worn it is and I have the honour to have a machine with with only 3642 miles on the clock so it should have an unofficial neutral in another 3000 miles or so

Tuck and roll, tuck and roll, I said to myself as I gracefully fell of the side of the Goddess. It was a dry day, so why not dip the tank to see if the auto-sensing fuel gauge was accurate(ish) and while I'm doing that let's start her up and see what we need to do in the cab for the MOT. First thing to do was the pitch inspection and the umpires were of the opinion we'd be lucky not to sink up to the axles once off the dry hump. So back to the Goddess, unzip the cover over the nearside door, climb up to the cab, finish unzipping the cover, throw unzipped cover on roof a coup of times (wind in wrong direction), fish out strap so I can roll up door cover and secure the rolled-up door cover. Roll up door cover, hold roll in one hand with strap, grab other locking part of strap over door, lose balance, fall gracefully screaming " Oh feck, oh feck, OHHHHHH FECKKKKKKKKK!!!!", realise I'm ripping the cover, release hand, fall faster, remember my parachute training, tuck and roll, tuck and roll, attempt double front pike to avoid sheep sh1t, hit sheep sh1t, counted broken bones to the number of zero mainly because the field and sheep sh1t is so soft. My rather dirty but otherwise pristine cover now has a rip over the door but heavy duty duct tape fixes all Dip tank with carefully selected stick. It's pretty full so gauge is probably more accurate than the original Bedford one Reversing camera has no signal Good vacuum but no air pressure. Maybe a gauge issue? Although currently unable to use the standing quarter or 0-60 functions of the trick GPS speedo the top speed hold function works. 45mph woo-hoo Then poor light stopped played

That's unfortunate that the cover has torn. I suppose that panel isn't removable to repair it, is it. Did it come with a warranty?

Ouch. How undignified!
I’m sure the people who made the cover could repair it for you later on in the year when you’re not using it.
The postman delivered a package to me today that I wasn’t expecting. Please PM me your PayPal details so I can square you up. 👍😃

So on Saturday after 8 days of nearly dryness we had to get the Healey up to Pete Farmers for some fettling on the vomiting up coolant front. With the weight of the Healey and the Great White Whale (trailer) at 1.75 tons I thought it would give a fair indication of how the grass would stand up to moving the 4-1/2 tons of the empty Goddess. SWMBO not very happy replacing the divots

OK the tilt does not leak but it did puddle. The temporary battens have improved the situation no end and I believe I have a fix. It's important that the fix allows the tilt frame to be easily collapsed and removable. Temporary fix Dangerous had concerns that the truck battery was shot but after a week on a conditioning charger it started the Cummins on the first crank Going to need some more sealing on the engine lid On the bed are some cardboard boxes. Inside the cardboard boxes is quite a lot of very high spec sound insulation. On querying this Dangerous admitted that he might have inadvertently converted square cms. into square inches on a one to one basis. I thought that he had insisted on a lot. We use sail battens on our fitted boat covers to stop this happening. They are in a sleeve so are removable.
