Swwet cheers mate, had figured out the nivomat stuff and was guessing that was the deal on airbag sizing.. take it same goes for the front try to match current spring size etc as close as possible.. Will do some more bag investigations and start pricing things up, bags would be the one thing I would want to buy new, compressors valves etc I'd consider second hand. From what I have found so far install is fairly straight forward so just need to do cost calculations before jumping in  |

Joe,
I've just picked up a compressor unit from a Discovery II, paid £25 for it from a local scrappy (they seem to make too much on ebay). It's not the highest flowing pump, but should work well enough with a tank and comes with two solenoids as well. I'm hoping this will be the first step towards a cheap air set up for my next project.

Cool cheers for the heads up.. hoping to stick a nose through some of the stuff at work as we have a few air products in at the moment too Just need to have a look at the contents of a proper full kit and figure out a full list of what bits I need, so I can start pricing them up. |

its cool mate  yea the front will be the same as well, going for new bags is definitely a good idea at least you know they have not had any abuse.. haha cost wise it would probably be on the higher side compared to a static drop but in the long run you will love the ability to switch between hights. full kits usually come with a tank, compressors, pipe, solenoids, bags, bag mounts, loom, gauges and control module. make sure when you invest in a compressor go for one slightly more then the one you require will ease the stress/load. cant wait to see this go in action  |

Cheers, am currently looking at kits checking specs of stuff etc so I can find out places to get things cheaper lol!
One quick question when picking bags, do I pick ones that match my compressed or uncompressed spring length... oh and while I am at it, how do I pick compressor size?
You may have a while to see it come to life.. I predict if I do go for it it will be a few months of collecting parts as funds allow.. that said I am getting excited!!

na na you don't want to go for the uncompressed length that is going to be like a truck airbag haha because you want the car to be sitting quite low, you need a bag that when its pressurised, the bag will be the same length as a compressed spring there for keeping the car on the standard hight. that when on low psi it will deflate hence lowering your car. example take this type  to make the explanation much easier here is a link to a video showing a air jack (based on similar to the above airbag) as you see when its pressurised it sits at the extended length and when deflated its pretty much the size of a bump stop hope that makes it simpler ;D |
