Where's all the love for Joe's Vulva here?
It's all meowing over the Miata! I like that, but also want to hear about JTF's Nordic KampfenWaggonen, plans for its use, mods, paint themes, etc etc. I think we're ignoring the flipside of this exchange a bit, mates.
Turn the blowdryers off, and fasten up your bindings!

I was leaving that side of things to Joe. I don't want to be spilling the beans on his plans....besides, I'm too busy styling my bouffant. ;D

Just caught up on this thread after Bruce randomly appearing at my work in the MX5 today.. Lots of potential and I have heard possible plans, and also cannot wait to see them executed. Epic roadtrip dude, you never fail to amaze me sometimes!

I am thinking Turbo Vec's? They would suit 5 perfectly, especially with a load of slam.

I'm actually going to be giving the existing Mazdaspeed rims a refurb for now. Remove tyres, sandblast, paint centres black, polish the rims on the 'MX5 lathe', refit tyres and done. As I said before, the whole point is to keep things very simple & cheap for now. Once the wheels are finished and the coilovers are on I'll pretty much roll it 'as is' but the longer term aim is to get some 15" steels banded and get the stance nailed. Will be ordering the coilovers this week along with some Mk2 top mounts but first I want to fit new wheel bearings on the rear, new pads all round, sort the bloody annoying rattly heat shield on the centre section and give it a good service. I did think about the Nothelle's but very quickly ruled them out for the exact reason Dan mentioned. 'Vecs would look cool but they are 4x114.3 so no go there....same with my Hayashi Street's (4x120) and they are only 6" wide too Perfect for the Rascal (when I get them plugged/redrilled) but not the MX5.

MOT'd today. Pass! Thanks Tim (and M-Tech) ;D ;D
Had a nice jaunt out to Westbury to get the ticket and well worth it at £25....nice cuppa from 'Mother' and a good chat with Tim.
A few little rust blemishes to sort and I'll probably remove the plate that was previously welded on the sill each side to have a good looky inside....but other than that it's very solid & straight despite its outside appearance.
Just got the insurance sorted for the year. £148 fully comp, all the bells & whistles (breakdown cover etc...), 6,000 miles a year policy, my GF added and only £50 excess. I told them I'll be lowering it and fitting wider wheels soon. No extra charge!
Now to buy the coilovers.
