That looks so innocent as it is, is it staying on narrow rims and no arches? - Good luck with the project

I don't know if it flies. It has no battery or fuel pressure regulator, the clutch needs bleeding etc etc, so I haven't driven it. The metro turbo has ninety-odd bhp so it's never going to be an impreza beater.
I think it will need the smaller arches to pass an MOT. I'm not a big fan of sportspack arches.

Posepack arches are horrible, glad to see them gone. Some group 2 arches would look good. I know it's been done to death, but they do look good.

90bhp isn't much but in something that weighs as much as a bag of kittens it will still be quick... Get the handling sorted and it will be really fun ;D

I had a poke round the car today, and the shopping list is growing. I currently need:
Voltage regulator Wiper motor switch panel including heater cable bonnet hinges front seat mounting hinges rear seatbelts It has a custom dash at the moment which quite frankly is a bit rubbish so I'd like to convert it to centre clocks for that minimalist look. Any dashboard parts would be welcomed. Just mentioning it here in case anyone has a big pile of bits to shift for not much money.

Had one of those "WHAT HAVE I DONE?" moments this week so made a start on doing it up. First job was to get rid of the locking wheelnuts which I don't have a key for. I can now get the puncture fixed which is preventing me from pushing it round the garage. Next up was filling and painting the holes left from the sportspack arches. The ones at the rear had already had some filler applied by the previous owner. Rubbed down the existing filler, filled some low spots, rubbed down again, drilled holes for the standard arches. Primer I took a gamble that the most recent respray had been done in the correct colour as per the chassis plate, and I managed to score 9 tins of Targa Red on ebay for £20 deivered. Here is the result. I'm quite pleased because: A. I've never done paintwork before, and B. The paint matches. Mojo restored. Just need to do the same on the other side.

Well, I was wrong. Now that the paint has dried, it just isn't the right colour. The paint code on the chassis plate translates to Targa Red. I suspect that when it was done up to look like a cooper, it was resprayed in cooper colours. Any one know what the paint code is for that? I could always just get some mixed to match, but that's more expensive than getting cheap tins off ebay.

Nice mini! Looks pretty tidy overall. Love the idea of a turbo engine, just never realised the turbos were smaller than an air filter! it's tiny! Does it run yet then?

IIRC the factory only limited the boost on the metro turbo due to weakness of the gearbox. if the gearbox is good, some straight cut drops and a qualty cross pin diff would handle upping the boost to get about 110bhp?

A set of correctly shimmed helical drop gears is fine. I can point you to a mini running them with over 200bhp. The gearbox is the week link, get a straight cut gear set in there and the 4 pin diff. I plan to run around 130bhp in mine and use helical drops and s/c box.
If you plan on uping the boost, then fit an intercooler. You will need a trip to the rolling road if you add more as the mixture will be wrong. The end result will be detonation and melted pistons.
