Never see him as he comes and goes when I am busy or asleep. Any one tell me what these wheels are? Been a bit of a slow burner with me. At 1st thought they are awful now think would they suit a viva? mutters will have to learn how to use photoshop.

is that a 'ripspeed' center cap? multi-fitmant would suggest halfords jobbies.

Nasty, heavy alloys certainly not worth putting anywhere near a Viva.

No doubt you could pick a similar set up in Halfords for not too much money. The black and silver would work on the Viva, but the size and (especially) offset won't do you any favours in my opinion. I like modern wheels on old cars personally, but fitment counts for more than most people think.

will the *I think* 4x4" ness of the viva cause some issues buying modern alloys?

Wobble bolts might help.

;D I know the '4x4'in will cause all sorts of problems and I would have to downsize to 13's if I could get them. These are only minor obstacles when it comes to finding the right offset to make it look right. If they are halfords std off the shelf I strongly doubt if I could get the wheel to look right in the Viva arch . I was hoping for a better manufacturer so I could go talk to someone and try to work something out from there

4x4" in 13" = No problem. Look here: www.midlandwheels.com/Pretty much everything they do in 13" is available 4x101.6 (4"). You should be able to get 7x13s on a Viva.

Maybe I'd change my mind with a p shop but stick with your first impression IMHO Do like modern wheels on old too, but it's a harder look to pull off but maybe because of that it would be extra win points if it did work.

I agree its a lot harder to find a wheel to suit. Here is one that IMO does... As ever it is in the eye of the beholder! Pictures welcome for those you think do not work on a older car or for that matter do!

^^ 'nuff said!!^^
I perfer old skool wheels on an old car, and generaly smaller ones too, but the right big modern rims on an old car looks bang on. But its so easy to get it wrong imo.

I'd say yes to the style, no to ripspeeds. There'll be plenty of wheels out and about that weigh less and are better quality than those. Nice to see others looking outside the box though, my cortina will probably end up on something modern and look awesome for it.

i wrote a pile of stuff but it makes no sense, to summarise:
Gack wheels look gack on any age of car, its not necessarily that 'modern' wheels don't suit 'old' cars

Look at Wolfrace "Street Octane" wheels for something similar. There is another set of Wolfrace as well that are like those but I cannot remember the name. 4x100 though, will need addressed.

A very nice thought too. Always liked slots or straight spokes but those do have a certain attraction.....

Can't help but think that there's a lot of 'modern wheels' in this thread that are actually old school wheels in modern sizes. I also can't help but think that I like it, I like it a lot.
