	we go regularly camping with the mini and need some way to transport the tent. so i wanted a roof rack, but it needed to be retro. so after loads of searching and planning . here is the result made from 22mm electrical conduit. i used a pipe bender (wish i still had it) welded all the joints, nut rivets to hold done the wooden slats. nut rivets rule coat of hammerite paint done old door seal rubbers on the legs ends and clamps to save the paint work. done i will let the pictures speak for them self

	I've thought about doing this, I've also got a pipe bender for plumbing. That looks amazing though, where did you get the pipe from, and the nut rivets?

	Awe3some. Is the conduit galvanised? I heard welding stuff that was already galvanised gave off nasty fumes or something.

	yes they were galvanised conduit. i used a grinder to remove the galvo surface and welded fine with out to many fumes. plus welding was done out side. conduit you can get from almost any electrical wholesalers and rivet nuts from fleebay or most nut and bolt suppliers. you need a heavy duty pipe bender as the 22mm pipe is hard to bend
