I've dropped the price to 900, I need this gone in the next week as I've got bills to pay this week and a new 80 mile distance job, and can't afford to cover two cars on the road. The last resort is parting and selling engine/wheels etc., which is immoral and something I never want to do.
Model: Vauxhall Astra GSi16v
Year: 1991
Mileage: 135000
Tax: December 2010
MOT: June 29th 2011
Location: The Wirral
Price: £1000

Edit: Car now runs perfectly, no problems, new engine, ignore most of the below problems!
Finally got this ready for the MOT. Unfortunately, it's a pain in the bum to start.
It's getting spark, but for some reason, fuel is weak, it dribbles out of the fuel rail, but once it's running, it sprays out of the valve like it should.
The car was working fine, until I changed the interior loom which goes behind the dashboard to the engine. It started on the button five months of not being started, I have never had a problem with it, it's never broken down since I've had it (2004).
I've replaced the windscreen with a new one this week, I've fixed and resprayed the arches, replaced the rear suspension with genuine GM shocks, every bush, suspension component, etc has been replaced in the past year with GM stuff. I've spent thousands on the car since I bought it, panels, doors, boot, interior, etc from GM. It's unmodified apart from Calibra Turbo brakes and wheels, and Astra Coupe turbo rear hubs (five stud conversion). Engine is standard, with airbox, GM filter, BOSCH distributor, etc.
The bad points are there are a couple of chips and the odd tiny dent here and there, it's also been written off 3 times. First was a bump in the rear (bumper/tailgate etc replaced - there is a 2cm size gap in the tailgate shutline at the bottom, but everything is straight), second was damage to the front bumper by a fox (replaced), and third was in my possession, where a car scratched my bumper on a roundabout. Written off for literally a scratch. This doesn't affect the car at all, it's just silly insurance cosmetic rubbish (bumpers are 600 quid new - hence write off), I didn't know about this when I bought the car, but it wouldn't have bothered me anyway.
Oh, and it takes about 15 seconds to start - if you've got enough batteries lying round.
The C25XE engine I put in came from a Cavalier V6, and had done about 70,000 miles. It doesn't knock, tap or smoke. It still has the air con pump on (not connected though). It's very rapid with the close ratio F20 gearbox, and without sounding like a chav, it'll pee on
any TDi and hot hatch.
The car is tidy overall, it polishes up well, I've redone and resprayed the arches and stonechips. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I service the car every year, and will give it a proper service before sale.
Here's some more pics from last night:
Any more pics or info just ask. I'm open for swaps.
