Take one zimmer frame off a certain RR simpleton Have a few beers and decide what to do with it... ....then give to Ben1066 and VIP, hand them a few grinders and a welder then show them to the newly aquired A52 Top-box..... ....then leave them to it for a few hours. The result: The Area 52 'Rapid Response Unit' Need a tool at the Gathering quickly? Who ya gonna call? It rolls really well, really smooth and handles rough terrain superbly (if it can tackle the potholes in the A52 yard with no fuss then you can expect a quick service on the campsite ;D) The bars at the bottom will hold a shelf with a homebrew jump-pack....there will also be a few other 'creative' elements added between now and the gathering. More updates to come as this thing evolves. Before you say anything, there will be some wing bolts to hold the top-box in place and stop it bouncing off (and then enable it to be removed if loading it into a car) but even without them, the empty box stayed firmly in place during the 'extreme terrain trials' I'm sure Butterz will be along very soon with pics of the 'handling' test LOL

Awsome, Just needs a light bar/flashing light on the top Already in hand Once the battery/jump pack is fitted the orange beacon is going on....along with some other choice mods. There won't be much of an update until after the next playday....but I think you'll all love how this is going to end up ;D

Awesome pics Dave - love the one of Ben being pushed along....the expression says it all. I had a few hours spare today and needed a break from 'Project X' so did a bit of tinkering on the RRU instead. This included drilling & tapping the mounts to bolt the top box to the frame (the sensible bit) Then measuring & cutting lots of carpet tiles to line all the drawers (the fancy bit) followed by putting all my spare tools I found around the garage (no point having a top box without tools!!) Lastly, I had some fun with it: The shelf & battery are just there while I was testing out the light. They will be replaced with a proper shelf and a homebrew jump-pack. More to come as it happens....
