Cars aren't always moving when the engine is running.
Think when a car usually gets hottest in the engine bay, i.e when stationary.
The bonnet trick will work then.

I won't be there when you cross the road, so always use the Green Cross Code.

Yeah it really annoys me when magazines get really basic/obvious facts wrong. A number of friend's cars have been magazine featured including a G40 Mk1 Golf in PVW, a 13sec RS Turbo covercar in Performance Ford, a stereoed-up Omega in Total Vauxhall & most recently a Split Samba in Volksworld's spin-off van magazine. In each case there have been major errors - not neccesarily in the technical content but mainly inaccuracies in the story of how each car came together & quotes which have been made up. It just makes you realise that you shouldn't believe totally in what you read A friend of mine had his car featured in the readers rides section of Retro Cars a while back. He sent them a pic (which they used) and some info, which they completely ignored and made up a load of old nonsense about the car. Apparently he was cross when the car threw a rod, which was news to him as it never had. Aaah journalists!
