i can't say no, here it is .... mate of me had this in storage for a couple of years and now it is at my place - for free ! paint needs a T-cut, as normal on this colour... mint interior, 2 previous owners from the same familiy, both female... FSH including 10(!) keys.... this is no rust, that's waxoyl ... tbh i don't know what to do with this yet; it is a 1,3 carb with 55 BHP, no catalytic converter, so almost not driveable over here ; it is so original, it would hurt to modify it, so maybe just a t-cut and a mechanical update... i am toying with the idea to keep it 100% original, which probably would be unique in the Polo "scene" ....

tidy polo you got there wash and detail etc would make it look stunning, plastic dress all the arches, bumpers grill etc.... some nice not too wide 13 inch wheels with smallish rubber and a subtle 'drop' would make that a very nice ride in my opinion good luck.

thanks for the comments, its made its way into the workshop, first thing i have to do is check the fuel lines, it smells like the Exxon Valdez ;D i ordered some detailing equipment, so i think it'll be shiny soon ....
on the to-do list so far :
- replace ignition lock - fuel lines (as above) - complete engine service incl. cambelt, waterpump, plugs etc ..
but before i can start here, i have to get some mates cars ready ; today i did a clutch on a 5cyl Passat and there is a shiny beetle from 72 there, which also needs some TLC ....

I'm with the keep it stock brigade... maybe lower it a teensy bit. Of course, a good clean and polish will make it look like a totally different car!

For once.... Id say keep it stock... Theres a hella lot of modified polos about... and very few clean standard ones... The only ones standard seem to be too curse word to modify lol... I'm gonna follow this so don't dissapoint haha

nice coupe! 10 keys! Keep it original lowerd with some bike carbs on the engine ;D 55bhp on a carb engine that has to be a MH enginecode?

I think i'll look for some OEM wheels and lower it .... a friend of me has a set of those for sale : they come from a breadvan GT, which has had an engine fire and will be broken, tyres are brand new. Though these wheels are not really beautiful, they are OEM and in good condition....

yesterday i took it into the workshop and had a closer look .... the engine bay needs attention ;D time for sandblasting here ... i polished a little bit at the quarter panel; i have to take the machine for the rest .... the interior is mint ... overall it is on ok condition for that age; the shopping list grows though : - cam belt and water pump - all filters - spark plugs - brakes (front/rear) - steering wheel - suspension when Hakon is coming down the next time, we'll be making a deal on a suspension; i'll do what i can best for now : detailling ;D

nothing happened in the last 6 months, so to keep in touch with a "project" it sometimes is time, to do something to it. Which i did : i bought some reasonable priced Mattig steel wheels, better known to you as "wellers" .... you can guess, what is next on the shopping list ;D it needs to go down... quite a lot, at least 60mms ... well, 7x13 is nice, i'll buy a suspension kit asap, as tuning parts for those polos are cheap as chips; 100 €s buys you a suspension kit, another 100 an exhaust, 30 a strut brace; i'll be doing that in spring, as the next weeks i am busy with some other VAG stuff...

today i escaped again and hid in the workshop The Polo was a non-runner, because the fuel lines in the engine bay were totally gone; and i don't want to have non-runners, as they are blocking up everything, and it is enough to push one car , but not the majority of the fleet... i bought the hoses from VW i now own enough shares of them Polo started and ran fine after that, but the header tank was empty ... water came out at the waterpump area , look what i found : the core plug had a hole... i will replace all, once the engine is out... i try to find out what to do with all the tinware in the engine bay... i could bring it to the sandblasters, but considering the prices of new or 2nd hand stuff, i think i'll look for better ones ... so,next update soon ....

Lovely example this, very original. I'd definately prefer to see this kept O.E. looking with just a bit of lowering and wheels. Damn you LHD Polo owners, look at the size of your brake servo! We got feck all over here! Heeeave! ;D
