cairy, Ive owned 17 CX's in the past. about half were parts cars the other lot drivers. They are COMPLEX and yes that needed to be in capitals. Full pressure hydraulics run everything (steering, brakes, suspension etc) they have speed variable power steering ans they rust like billy o. Having said that as far as I'm concerned they are the finest car ever designed by citroen, it improved on the success of the DS's technology and became car of the year in 74 in europe. they were made from 74-89 the change over to series 2 being in 1985 ish. The s1 cars rust most and have very weird dash/instruments/interior. They are a car you will probably hate for the first 100 miles then when its all familiar you will probabbly love them. In 180bhp turbo GTI form thety are in my mind the ultimate FWD GT car. But I'm biased. doesnt matter if you get the 2 litre, 2.2 or 2.5 engines they all do similar mpg of about 24-28 combined. The turbos will do a lot less if you want though check out CX forum link above for more info. Great cars but i am biased. Values can be tricky, they can be from 50 quid through to 5000. In my opinion at about 800 quid this car is spot on its money.

OH and i must add series 1 car trim bits are totally impossible in this country. The best CX specialist new parts supplier is CX basis in germany and in this country you have a guy called stan platts up north who has probably forgotten more about the CX than i ever knew.

I'm used to bugs and campers where if it goes wrong, you only need one tool, a BIG HAMMER ;D glad its going to a good home
