Fashions this year mainly involve big Bentley wheels or similar, and airride (a perennial favourite), not much of the UK-influenced stickers and flouro-wheels around. I got very bored very quickly of the "shocker" sticker though, same as over here... Mk5 Golfs are suddenly very popular, as are Audi A5s. White is getting out of style now, metallic browns are maybe the new shade... Much less airbrush/minitruck inspiration this year, clean and subtle, low and big-rimmed is the vogue of 2010

Great pics Darren..... hope you don't mind, i've copied & pasted your photos of MK1 Polos/Derbys into a thread on the Mk1 Polo Club forum These are my stand out cars..... and despite being there I didn't see any of them in the flesh/metal Reckon this would taste nice if you licked it This stands out for just being so understated This is just uber stweet This looks double hard These next three are just Audi loveliness And this one cos its like the younger brother to my car... even has wheels that are similar to ones I used to have too!..... oh & its full of girls ;D (I did actually see this car in Reifnitz on the Friday) PS; we spotted an Austin Ambassador down a side street in Klagenfurt.... can't remember the last time I saw one of those... didn't get a pic though

Well we almost made it...
Got south of Salzburg, then cooked the brakes coming down a mountain pass in the Alps. Proper good cook too - all the grease melted and fell out of the front hubs! Lots of smoke. That'll teach me to come down a 9000 ft hill in 3 tonnes of 26 year old van. I put it all back together in an American Diner car park, but we then had quite an interesting shudder on the warped discs, so decided just to gently cruise back home. Good road trip though...
Will try again next year, but in the meantime, thanks for all the photos Darren!

This is why I love the VW Scene... This car.... is just a shiny Mk1 on some shiny wheels right? So what? But I absolutely guarantee you the owner will have spent weeks perfecting that stance, because its what makes the car unbelievably good to look at. I absolutely adore this Mk2 for mixing it up with some big silly nu-skool wheels on an older car, whilst still looking pretty timeless. I'd give a knacker to own that car, but I imagine it would be pointless as it wouldnt last 2 minutes on our crappy roads before there was oil all over the place... Got to love the 8-Series BMW as well. Epic set of pics as usual Darren, looks like a fantastic few days.

Both of those Golfs are on Airride - it's really common over there, almost everything that sits low is running it ;D
