Did I see that parked up in Berkh----d today Ah yes you did, we were popping into Papa Johns The rear valance is made by Zender and the front splitter is off a Megane. It fits straight on as it's flexible rubber, but you need to cut the ends down. Thanks for the comments ;D P.S. - The Goodwood is my girlfriends car !

Tidied up the engine bay today by ditching the airbox system and running a cylinder filter in-line with the throttle housing. It makes it alot easier to work and looks less cluttered. It also sounds quite nice aswell

Looks really nice! I really want a 309 rear beam for mine, (do you have the non GTi beam?) really makes the wheels sit right in the arches. Apparently it makes the handling a bit less, well lairy shall we say!

I didn't think there was a difference with between the various 309 beams so I can't answer that question. I find it has made the car alot more predictable in and out of corners...way more fun to drive if i'm honest !

They're a bit wider track and apparently that makes the handling more predictable like you say, and reduces the dreaded lift off oversteer Oh, 309 GTI will have discs but standard will have drums

heh I know what the differences are between the 205 & 309 beams, I just didn't know what the differences between 309 & 309 GTi beams were

Does anyone know if the AUX fusebox at the front of the engine bay is grounded by those substantial bolts which run through it ?
At the minute the box is floating around as I can no longer fit it in its original position, and my 'STOP' light has been flickering on the dash. It's only been happening since I was moving stuff in that area of the engine bay.

Well the problem seems to have fixed itself so who knows what that was about.
I'm looking for a 1.6 GTi AFM at the minute as mine has been damaged, anyone ?

Managed to source a second hand AFM, fitted it earlier today and everything is working fine now. In fact...it runs better than it ever has !
The idle is now where it should be, and I can't find any flat spots in the throttle. Love it.

Here's a quick video, nothing spectacular but I was just seeing if my camera could pick up the exhaust tones. It sounds alot more grunty in the flesh but here you go anyway:

I decided to change the tailpipe as I realised outward roll probably suits older fords alot more. I think this new straight piece suits the style of the car more:
