I always liked the Mercs but this thing is crazy: I thought there were more cars than listed there? I've sure there are more and some of them have ended up over here.

I have to say my favourite in many respects (and the one I always come back to) is actually Sam Barris' not Geroge's. Thats Sam's Buick Sedanette. Just beautiful, so right. While George's cars were more showy, and more iconic, I think Sam had more style.

I agree 100%...but if we are talking about the cars that Sam was NOT involved in, the '66 Barracuda based Fireball 500 car has always caught my eye.

Definitely worth a mention: Despite the fact it's not that far removed from the base car and that it's probably more famous than Barris himself, it's still a pretty neat car! I was gonna head straight for The Hirohata Merc, but a bit of research tuned up another car I'm not familiar with: Klassy. That'll do for my choice.

That Ford is rather nice. Its in the "Barris Kustoms" book. I've always like "Junior" Conway's '49 coupe which was built when he was working (doing paint) at Barris' shop. Photo from Rik Hoving's site.

Hands down... ...Hirohata Merc. I would argue this is the finest Kustom ever built. Simple yet complex, stunning yet modest. Pure and simple masterclass in perfection. "30 coats of hand rubbed high luster nitro lacquer paint in foam green and organic toners" For this car alone, Barris will always be the best IMO ...beautiful.

Your car is not 'epic', this thread is not 'epic'....the OCEAN is epic, the UNIVERSE is epic.... please stop misusing this word!! It would appear Hotrods are the new VWs - aint fashion funny! '69 BUICK LESABRE 350
