...is this: The Alfa ARNA (Alfa-Romeo/Nissan Auto if I remember right) and Nissan Cherry "Europe": Combining the legendary-at-the-time Japanese character with equally-legendary Italian build quality and reliability... Can't help but think they got it the wrong way round! has anyone EVER seen one?

There used to be at least one that raced in the Italian Intermarque series (roundy-roundy racing)...it always used to make me giggle seeing Nissan Sunnys whizzing in and out of the usual Italian fare! They were 2-door (officially 3 I suppose) cars...slammed over wide 13s with race rubber.

That appears to be an Alfa-ised Nissan Pulsar, also sold here as a Holden Astra believe it or not! There are still heaps of them kicking around here, you can pick one up for peanuts and they are often some kid's first car to beat to death. Our next door neighbours have one. Ugh!

The Nissan on which it's based was called the Cherry here. I remember the people across the road from getting a silver one when they first came out, and I was horrified at the dark blue interior... Headlining, dash, seats, gearlever etc etc, all BLUE! Of course, now I'd think it was REALLY cool!
