Hey all I'm toying with the idea of getting a 924 for a bit of fun few questions tho Will a VW G60 engine fit? i.e same mounts, gearbox mounting etc) What PCD are they? And now for a pic of my fav 924 of all time

4 stud 924s have a 4x108 PCD, 5 stud ones are 5x130, same as the bigger Porsches. AFAIK the G60 isn't a bolt-up fitment, the earlier Audi engines had a different bolt pattern on the engine/bellhousing. Hopefully someone can confirm

Thanks so far, if a g60 will bolt on I'll go buy one as I've got a freshly rebuilt g60 lump doing nothing

Good cars, but no real 'easy' engine conversions to be honest. Used torque tube with rear transaxle so makes it all a bit more involved than you might expect.
That aside they are generally rust free, well balanced cracking cars. No reason you can't put some effort in an make a G60 one. People spend time and £ sticking V8 in badly handling mainstream motors after all.

How about a 944 turbo 2.5 lump in one of these? With some effort it should fit and would easily tune to over 300bhp. Would be like a carrera GT version of this:

It was just that I've got the g60 engine sitting here, it's pushing around 220bhp so was looking at getting a 924 and bolting it in if it was simple enough.

I'd go for it. Always wondered why there aren;t more of these with later VAG engines - specifically I have thoughts about sticking in a 1.8T 20V. Surely mating the engine to teh tourque tube should be no more involved than mating an engine to a strange gearbox - adapter plate etc.
