Anyways, I'm hoping to paint this damn Ventora soon, so I guess I need some paint. I'd like a nice shade of green but am undecided what shade. I want it dark, but not as black as BRG. I don't want one of those bottle green / emerald green colours. Too sickly. I want a fairly clear colour, but wiith some pearl to it would be nice. I don't want to custom mix anything because this car might even make it to be my daily driver. So far I have considered: MG-Rover LeMans Green - perhaps too bright? Renault Vertigo Green - perhaps too boring? Vauxhall Rio Verde - perhaps too dull? Anyway, this is what the car looked like before I started pulling to to bits. I want something which is tonally similar to the original green but doesn't look like Karki Olive Metallic LOL. Also it won't have a vinyl roof on it either. Suggestions?

Tom GSE:
Is that a genuine BRIXMIS opel?
If so where WAS IT!
They are very rare (4x4 with Trabant set up back lights, for when 'working' behind Iron Curtain at night).

Mmm the Ventora looks nice What is the o/a look are you going for? Is it going to be lowered/modified with different wheels or are you keeping it looking relatively stock? I think this will affect what colour would look 'right'

SubLime Green (aka Lime Light) is just a bit much for what I want. I want a metallic green. Just something with a little more "lift" than the stock colour. The look will be very similar to one of my old Victors... Because I kept the wheels when I sold the car... Although I have aboout 3 other sets to chose from to go on it. But greener, and a bit olivey. I do quite like the Aston Martin lower picture, anyone know the proper name for that colour and if AM offer their formulations out to third parties?

Mmm - keeping it Vauxhall how about that metallic green that most MK4 Astras seem to be painted - its kinda 'Olivey' and suitably subtle. I often think bright/dominant colours from newer cars looks somehow wrong on old/classic cars but I think this particular colour (which is a bit like the lighter Aston colour) Would suit the car well [ftp]http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD_web/servlet/media?id=268758471[/ftp]
