Model: Proton 1.3

MOT: 8 months
Location: Wirral
Price: 200 o.n.o
Additional Information:
It starts first time and runs on all four nice and sweet and drives great its just if you leave it idling for a bit it gets hot. The engine is pressurizing so some air is getting in the coolant somehow Exhaust is a bit smokey too - Ive been thinking and I remember the waterpump made some horrible noises a few weeks back which then stopped - it could just need a new pump, the smoke out the back is grey and black on full throttle so it COULD be that the water isnt being pumped around the engine properly and so the carb thinks its still cold and over fuels hence smoke. Would explain why it runs hot too as the water isnt being moved around to be sufficiently cooled.
. It has plenty of tax and loads of MOT left on it. Ive just driven it a few miles to my mums and it didnt overheat. Not gonna put any more time effort or money into it so if you want it its yours. Would look awesome on banded steels and lowered somewhat - and its different. Also the exhaust note believe it or not is ace, proper little JDM rasp!! Its a Mitsubishi engine and has been ultra reliable.
I replaced the trackrod ends and rear section of the exhaust for the last MOT as well. The drivers window doesn't go down and the sunroof is a bit leaky but its only just started, we silicone'd it about 6 months ago and its been fine till last week! You can even have the rest of the can of silicone. Oh stereo wont be coming with it. Has a certain degree of patina - lacquer lift and a few scrapes but not bad.
So there you go.
Edited above - not convinced its the head gasket as it runs too well and doesnt seem to be using water. Also the oil stays oily and water stays watery. I'm now suspecting waterpump, seals sucking in air and blades not turning properly causing the carb to think its not warm and overfueling (hence smoke) and sucking in air through seals causing the pressurization and getting hot? I'm not sure but Ive had enough of messing with it so its time to pass it on, Id rather not scrap it it just needs a new owner with a fresh pair of hands!
Reckon its priced fairly seeing as how much any car with MOT goes for, its only a bit more than scrap value, Id rather see it in the hands of someone else than crushed but need the cash asap for a replacement so be relatively quick.
