I'm sat here grinning like a loon so many great memories surfacing now I'm seeing the pics! The 'femine-ness' was high in the snug... but at least there was no threats of inappropriate touching like there was on Fri night.. mentioning no names.. (Ben!) and I can definately remember Paul chanting 'fire fire fire' like a mad pixie at the log burner while trying to burn stuff  Great times.. Cant wait for the next one... ;D |

OK guys. Your mission for the next A52 weekend (should you choose to accept it): Once someone in a car has fallen into a heavy drink laden sleep, shift the other cars around and get them up in the air on the 2 post lift.  I'm laughing at the photos and I wasn't there! |

Once someone in a car has fallen into a heavy drink laden sleep, shift the other cars around and get them up in the air on the 2 post lift. That'll be Si then. Every time. I've got a great video to prove it. Seth, you're a bad influence! ;D [EDIT] Here's the video. Si always seems to manage a whole bottle of vodka early on, falls into a deep snoring coma then wakes up an hour later right as rain. The bit between finishing the vodka and fallling asleep is 100% comical. Si you're a total legend ;D  |

So here we are on Sunday morning....and after a quick bacon buttie and copious amounts of tea, things start occurring around the unit. Si's car still adorns the remnants of last nights tat raid....along with a new A52 sticker to go with his military theme.  Ben gets to work making a 2nd bottle top opener to put near the wood burner. Joe supervises  Steve, Adam (and Pete...but not pictured) measure out and make up some firewood storage boxes from the MDF left over from making the worktops.   Down at the far end Matt gets to work making a fibreglass cover for where his NS wing mirror used to be. Te rest of the lads supervise and advise using the knowledge that John imparted not 24hrs before.  Nice gelcoat layer there Matt - John would be proud ;D  Rich (Fox Mcintyre) arrives and gets stuck straight into work on the Rascal fitting the new cambelt. This was his forst visit to Area 52 and he totally gets it. Straight in at the deep end with a socket set in one hand, cuppa & Maryland cookies in the other. Top work there fella. Supervised by his friend Al (not on Retro Rides) and his unfeasibly orange hoodie!  A magic moment.....Rich gets the Rascal running for the first time in over two years! AWESOME! He is my new hero and there are a lot of smiles around the unit as the slammed Rascal fires up and makes hell of a racket (no exhaust, sounded awesome 'in the flesh') Thanks Dude....  While Ben finishes the 2nd beer bottle opener I take another look at the bottle top catcher that I made in a drunken mess on Friday night (circa 3am) out of some of the SA plates that Rian kindly donated to the unit. The plates are awesome Rian and I'm sure they will find lots of other purposes around the workshop?  Daft brings his Daf in for some work. Having a ramp is so flipping useful! Paul, you need to learn how to manouvre a car though....  Fresh from getting the Rascal running, Rich is straight into fixing the brakes on the Daf. Epic stuff....the guy just can't seem to get enough!  Daft looks something up for Rich.  Al supervises. He makes a good supervisor.  That took us up to around lunch time. More to come when I get back from work this afternoon..... |
