I would love to come to one of these, but I have no skills or even a retro car atm... not sure I'd be welcome just to loiter haha.

Will, I know not where you live, I know not what you drive.....but if you can make it along from wherever, in whatever, you are more than welcome to come & loiter, observe, chat, read magazines....whatever you feel like doing. There are no obligations or expectations at Area 52, you make it what you want. Tea making skills do come in handy....that pretty much guarantees you some major bonus points, but other than that, just being there is enough. 30th January is the next one. It's gonna be a cracker....so try and come along if you can.

I'm up in Northants so I'm quite away from you and I drive a Mk6 Fiesta... however I'm hoping that situation should be rectified soon. I can certainly make a brew, I can even make multiple brews and I would love to learn some new skills. I think the next Playday would be doubtful for me realistically but certainly in the upcoming months I would love to come down if you're sure I wouldn't be in the way!?

Whenever, however....just make it when you can What you drive to a play weekend is not of importance. One thing you might want to start brushing up on is who has what: Simples....lol. 20th Feb is the one after 30th Jan. Then Mid March.......don't leave it too long, you'll miss out on so much! I mean, Mark comes over from Ireland as much as he can so Northants isn't too far away when you put it into perspective.

When you put it like that no it isn't as I said I really want to start learning stuff I really should of started learning 5 years ago (I'm 22 now) so just being around people like yourself and the others should be a big help.

THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
See you on the 30th Jan then. Lots going on, you'll have a chance to just immerse youself in the spirit of A52 (and come away with your own 'authorized' stickers if I manage to make some this time....)

30 jan :eek LOL - it was decided today because of there being 6 weeks between the last one (6th Jan) and the next (20th Feb) 30th Jan gives a nice midway mini-meet to try and get all the stuff finished on the unit. If it means the lift is working...then I think there will be a lot of happy people. Running hot water, heating and worktops. Much awesomeness ;D You've probably seen that we got a sink sorted. When I found out you couldn't make it (don't blame you mate) then I quickly got one sorted. Sorry if that messed you around at all? Do you think you'll be making it down on 30th? Would be good to have you down again.

Thanks Si, Alan is making a wood burner for the unit. He's managed to source one of those big f*@k off propane cylinders which should kick out a bit more heat than the more conventional sized ones. I guess the next thing I'll be requesting is stockpiles of wood. (If anyone has any spare wood, please feel free to bring it along for incineration - bits of trees, old pallets etc... ) Will call you tomorrow Si re; your PM
