What an epic weekend! I think everything that could of happened over the weekend did! from late night streeto to body-kitting a KAk ;D I would post some pictures up but I only ended up taking about 10 and they're all pretty much the same as what has been posted. Really need to start taking more lol.

You could always post up pics from the last time you were down? They've made it onto FB, so surely they can appear here too? I'm dying to see the one of Dave @ high altitude (as well as the rest) Photos or it didn't happen I think that's the general argument when it comes to streeto, no? ;D ....but if the photos were taken on the private Area 52 'test track' then it should be fine. It even has replica street signs for that authentic look ;D

I always find myself stuck on this post in amazement, is this a tight nit community or can 'anyone' meaning myself join in the antics? I'm a good few hours away but would love to pop down for a weekend :0)

I'm a good few hours away but would love to pop down for a weekend :0) It's very much a close, friendly community, but it isn't tight knit in that outsiders aren't welcome. We all started going by speaking to Bruce (Mysterymachine), asking him for directions. It's his unit so not anyone else's place to give the go ahead for others to come along. The list of people on the Area52 stand for this year's Gathering is testament to how open and friendly a place it is. The vast majority of people that visit make sure they come back.. I've made sure I've got to virtually every play weekend since they started nearly 2 years ago!

Not from a play weekend but I spent a weekend making use of Bruce's skills and his ramps and his weldings Future proofing my Pulsar, stopping rust before it happens. He set about doing this. This is the rear passenger arch, showing the gap that goes up between the panels. and plated and the drivers side, which is more intricate as it has the filler pipe to deal with, its not completely boxed off but once the plastic shroud is back in nothing will be able to get up there. Have also undersealed the full underside of the car now, just need to remove the front wings and front bumper to finish off, but that can wait. Showing the panel thats been welded in I have emptied a tin of Dynax S50 into all the box sections I could access.

The Pulsar was very cool. Is it basically an import Almera GTi?

nothing like it mate, it uses a 1.6 engine, that has variable cam timing on both the inlet and exhaust cams. it revs to over 8k iirc and makes like 190 bhp in standard form, but with a little work a 2.0 bottom end can be bolted on and with a few parts can make silly bhp and be made to rev alot higher

I'll have to upload the video from when Sam took me out for a blast. Blast being the operative word.
It sounds great when the inlet cams open up, but when the exhaust cams let rip all hell breaks loose. Forget V-tec...this car doesn't so much put a grin on your face, more makes you laugh like a loon! Fantastic.

Hi Richard, Glad to hear you can come over on Saturday. Make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty I don't have a pressure tester, but I am sure someone will be able to take a look at the car and see if they can spot a problem. We have a compression tester if that's any help? (or is that what you mean by pressure tester?)
