excellent thread ! most of your work seems to be actually undoing previous "MOT" style quilting.
as you say, some of the bodges wouldve taken more effort and time than doing it properely.

I'm really unhappy about having to sell this and despite already verbally agreeing it's sale 6 weeks ago, the buyer has gone awol, and I'm losing my ability to store it in 2.5 weeks. 2 years of contested divorce is taking it's toll, maybe in 10 years when all is finished, I can have another go.

Hi to all , I'm a new member and have just purchased this vehicle!! i currently have an air bagged 1957 15 window split screen, a vw karmann gipsy, and just sold my NSU RO80 thats been in a garage for 35 years! i have not seen or got the K70 yet but I'm already making plans for it. collection is on tuesday so i will keep you posted. PS I'm in taunton somerset so anyone with any knowledge on these cars feel free to let me know, I'm a vw enthusiast but i havnt come across this model before. my main concern is getting the engine re built and more importantly getting the parts for the re build, any info would be good.

Al, I pointed him your way already, mentioned you were quite cool and may be willing to let him have a gander at yours from time to time on how it goes back into a car!
Very cool chap, I hope he's going to stick around on this forum and let everyone know how he gets on. tbh, why would you want to go anywhere else? ;-)

Its in good hands (or will be on tuesday!) i can assure you.

update... the car is delivered and I'm raring to go...well that was until the about an hour later, when i got the chance to buy my all time favourite volkswagen a karmann ghia razor edge! i have wanted one forever! and could not let the opportunity pass me by. its done my second vw purchase of the week (wife had to have a £130 hair cut to make it all ok!!) but the K70 is going on ice until the new year, the razor is only needing a very small amount of work to complete... watch this space i will finish what i started with this one thats for sure.
