Oh my what a rumbunctious picture! That must have been a brilliant series to go an watch. As far as I know that blue corvair on the RHS was based on a McLaren Canam car and engine!!!! When I find the mag again I'll scan the rest of the car details in!

This is fantastic, it's a Davrian imp monocoque fiberglass car up against some serious modern tin, look out for the high speed overtake round the outside of the evo Here is the car - J

Right GTVSaviour what is the story with your TR then? What is it, what is it's motive form of propulsion and what will it be? Hey James, Right - as it came 'cans' engine I did some digging, helped out by ten-tenths gurus who piped in. Apparently it was a well known racer with 'special tuning' developed engines that were one-offs from the Abingdon boys. I did get hold of an ex driver (got his garage number - he's still pro-active in racing) up in Lancs land and he confirmed a lot of the history - unfortunately he hasn't been in touch or reposnded since I tried tracing the original engines - and one was known of - but it's a scrap garden ornament and replacement bits were just impossible unless custom made and I'm not made of dough! It interested me at first as there were some looking to re-launch the modsports series with original cars wanted to re-appear. Shame.... I then grabbed a Z31 turbo cheap as chips around the corner here in Brussels (it was the one myself and OB tried killing on the track) - it ran amazingly well and still starts on the button. I still want to upgrade a bit though and have the running GT6 on the back of the transporter for RR10. See you on the track

TBH - I was after a Davrian - love 'em..... but the GT6 was really stoooopidly cheap - so dived in and took it on. Currently for sale - 8K or this for a cool 125K!!! - fastest Turner in the world (lovely thing in motion ) these are still 'stashed' away - one day..... those were the days my friend.... car thieves ( ) have come a long way since then - but you have to admire his taste nnngghhhh - dribble bring it all back - NOW!!! Want to see this again - at will.... There are some Davrian Imps racing in the Irish Historic Series as far as I know. Haven't had too much luck getting hold of any modposrts surviviors - but they are out there....... Keep diging 'em up boys!
