such as shame that car was awesome, but you cant feel to bad as it was planned from the beggining as just a spare project, and i doubt thats the last we hear from Mr.Burroughs, i'd like to see what he has planned next

Such a shame, he lowered it too far and destroyed it on a speed berm.......
.....as predicted. I hope he finds a hundred more BMWs to do just like this one. That was great. The rust, the tie wraps, the felled tree, the tipped tin of paint off the ladder splashing all over, it was a powerful statement. He should sign and number them as a limited edition, and trailer the whole hundo out to the 2010 BMWCCA convention for quick sale to the appreciandos. He'd either make a mint or get drawn and quartered. Any more, I don't know which!

funniest quote from the linked thread "Personally, that thing belongs in a museum. " it was a beemer, an ugly beemer, but was destined to be wowwed by the beemer loving public but, theres nothing I hate more than a staged car, strictly for men with shrivelled parts. I know that we on this forum are supposed to say nice things about others cars, but I can't. And (we are told) everything has potential, it didnt have any potential, it was already over-the-top, it looked staged, it was staged, hopefully its gone now and sincerely hope that no-one else decides to copy it however, heres some beemers I do like the look of:

Norm,'five...c'mon guys, you're twisting the story here. The car was a stunning non-rat black car: No bandwagon involved, unless you count awesome stance as bandwagon. He changed it regularly - wheels, bonnet, suspension - but nothing irreversible. Then he had an accident which meant the car was fit for the scrapheap. Rather than scrap it, he played with it for a while. Sometimes you guys are too quick to make your anti-scene claims, in this case I think you've picked the wrong target. To me this car encapsulates the phrase 'having fun with cars' and that's what it's all about as far as I'm concerned. Sorry to say autofive that there is a replica(ish) too, so whilst your fears are somewhat ill-placed, they have come to fruition: Tigran drives it. ;D NO more Burroughs-bashing please. I remember when BMWs were boring.

What he said ^^^
He did it that way to provoke a reaction, and one way or another it did exactly that, I'm pretty sure Mr Burroughs hasn't lost any sleep over those that don't like it.
OK maybe the outpouring of grief over on SW is a bit over the top, but IMO it was a very cool car.

I have to say Mike B's E28 was an inspiration for my E28, which I've just sold . Luckily though it's going to be in capable hands Is there an update on Tigran's E28? I don't think I've seen anything from him for a while!

No bandwagon involved, unless you count awesome stance as bandwagon. Awesome stance is what killed the car, 'Mad. That isn't bashing by anyone. That's bashing by inanimate objects (kerb-to-chassis, kerb-to-gearbox, unfixable). The owner, acknowledges his stanceworks killed his car. Not getting how this is "targeting" or "twisting", unless you're saying the owner is twisting something (his chassis maybe?). It is merely the actual result of the inevitable. As reported, not by me, but by the OWNER who lavished LOVE and CELEBRITY on this car. The link to his self-written post-mortem was provided in the second post above. All I did was read the damned thing! ;D

The crash killed the car. The stance just accelerated the ill effects of the crash, causing the frame to crack.
The car was totalled anyway, so he decided to have fun with it while it lasted.

TB, thought the accident with said truck 90% killed the chassis, and the kerb-bashing merely finished it off. Ill be sad to see it go, loved that car in ALL its incarnations, and am quite bemused by some of the reactions on here LOL. Dbizzle..... nice car time line! rob0r..... Nooooooo and yaaaaaay and the same time! Really wanted that vehicle, but time space and money are all against me. Hope the new owner rocks it well

h8erz club on the prowl again i see...... funny how its always the same posters. he musta been doing something right or everyone wouldnt be talking about it. indeed, this thread wouldnt exist.
i liked the oiled bare metal with nose art incarnation best.
i havent got any ideas of bare metal(in fact, i intend to put more red back on), i merely wanted to check the stance on various rims as i know it had had a lot of different wheels fitted along the way. I'm sure everyone will be able to comment on robs ex-car as it evolves under my ownership in the same way. I'm sure itll please some people, and displease others. tbh i don't care as long as its what i want.
anyway, as you were, carry on loving or hating it, i know how i feel about it..............

I really liked the car, in all its incarnations... Just like I liked most of the cars I've broken, done wrong things too, abused or on the very rare occasion, sold. What I will say is that Mr Burroughs can take a photograph, which to my mind has made people look at their own photography and inspired them to do better, whilst understanding what that means. If his enjoyment of this E28 has led to his pictures being spread far and wide, with the result I mentioned, then good on him

As the ex owner, I approve of your plans . I was mega tempted to throw my 17 x 8J style 5s that are on my E32 735i onto the E28 just to see how it looked before it left. I with the arrival of my E32 I knew I was never going to get around to doing the E28 again, I'm just glad it's going to a good home.

Speaking for me, as posted above, I liked it all. Hated none of it.
1. I listed things I liked. Nothing I didn't like.
2. Hope he does a repeat performance x100.
3. Don't know whether he'd be feted at a BMWCCA meet or vivisected, as the vast lionshare of the heat came from PropHeads.
4. He said his Stance-doesn't-Works. He says "curse word went to hell." His words. The incontrovertible laws of physics apply despite "looks" and "wowz". And they apply without discrimination. A little more ground clearance in TN and that car would still be alive today.

I must be reading something different to you Norm. I read this: The key part being 'ever since the accident'. Look at the windscreen pillar...that's more than suspension slam damage:

^^Not that, 'Mad. This: "Gracefully sliding my way over a speed bump," "curse word went to hell." The speed bump killed it. He says in the same post which you are quoting from that he was living with the asymmetry of the alignment and the tweaked frame. Even with the body separating, was going to press forwards. Then "a few days ago", speed bump. And "curse word went to hell". Stance not Works. His conclusion, from "sliding my way over a speed bump".

He needs to mount his stuff further up. Speed bumps have killed my car several times ;D Shame to see it go. Only saw it in its final guise so nice to see some earlier pictures here
