Built up an engine stand but need to make sure I get it right when I come to putting the engine on it as I'm borrowing the engine crane (wish I had one spent a fortune borrowing them) to get the engine out so basically I need to do it at the same time.
Its similar to this one in design;
Only not having used one before I want to make sure I do it right. Obviously the four 'arms' are adjustable and I'm guessing I just line the arms up with 4 holes on the engine block where the bellhousing bolts up (I'm assuming I use my better judgement when selecting which holes to use)
Each of the arms have hollow cylinders at the ends and I'm presuming I have to use 4 high tensile bolts and nuts to bolt it up. Thing is, when I do this in my head it seems there is a hell of a lot of strain on these 4 bolts particularly the top two, and the fact that the hollow cylinders are surprisingly large in diameter compared to the diameter of the bolts Ill be having to use fills me with more confusion, like Id perhaps have to use some large washers on the back of the cylinders but then I'm thinking they'd just pull through with the weight.....
Can someone clarify it all for me as I'm aiming to rent the crane next Saturday and pull the engine out now it is all ready. Cheers fellas
