@mystery Machine I have to say that they are a fine selection of pics. Wouldn't mind getting one and modding it for a daily.

I plan on buying on of these this year, a Caddy not an Inca. I need a Van and I have some really cool plans for the Caddy. I was gonna go for a T4 but I think these are the way forward.

I plan on buying on of these this year, a Caddy not an Inca. I need a Van and I have some really cool plans for the Caddy. I was gonna go for a T4 but I think these are the way forward. Caddys are identical apart from headlights/grille and accompanying panel and bumpers (inca's aren't colour coded) IIRC. Rear end is leaf sprung, front is the same as mk2 Ibiza/cordoba/Polo saloon/polo Estate, NOT 6n polo hatch. Mk2/3 golf suspension up front with mk3 golf top mounts. 256mm front brakes so take a 280mm conversion easy, rears will swallow a 9j rim, later axles have the correct stub axle bolt configuration for a disc brake conversion, subframes are perfect for any engine conversion (have done a VR and 1.8t in the past 5 yrs and there is also a G60, ABF 2.0 16v among others about). Far superior in driving comfort to a mk1 caddy pickup, not subject to scene tax as per the mk1 pickup and more useful (a 6' person can lie out in the back). www.vwcaddy.com is the place for top info, a load of banter and a bunch of straight talking fun loving bunch of guys. My first van (1.8t)

I know they are the same buddy but I'm a sucker for VW and would need it on the V5 lol!
I bought an accident damaged Inca a few years ago and replaced all the front end with estate panels.
Out of interest do you know anyone that has fitted rears seats to one?

Thanks in advance ;D Lets get the confusion out of the way The Caddy/Inca is NOT based on the Polo Hatchback chassis, the front end of the Caddy is based on the Polo Classic Saloon & Estate and the Inca front end is based on the early 94-96 Ibiza/Cordoba. The rear end is leaf springs very simular to the MK1 Caddy Pickup and the newer 2004> 2k Caddy Van. If you want one lowered, give us a shout, I can either supply you all the parts or do the work for you I own and run both www.vwcaddy.com (forum) & www.justcaddys.com (parts & services) Heres mine Cheers Al

Just because something hasn't been done yet makes it all the better to do it yourself. Use some inspiration from the above pics and apply it to a vehicle that isn't normally targeted. Max bonus points right there. Funny you should say it, I was just thinking (about an hour ago) what a Mk1 early model Fiat Dobblo ugly thing would look like with 'the' treatment? I reckon they have SOOOOOO much untapped potential! One of these with a healthy makeover could be simply amazing.... ;D

I'm with you all the way there, i have a few ideas ticking over in my head for the Berlingo, but i agree with you about the Doblo, unloved but so much hidden potential

haha, I love little vans... my berlingo was going to go this way (already smoothed rear doors, rear bumper, skirts etc.. and easy to lower via torsion bar) but I have too many projects with no t&t sitting about... and an extra vehicle thanks to my dad Ickle vans are great with a slam, nice paint and pokey wheels, I had even thought about giving mt 'lingo a roof chop lmao! vwcaddy.com is a great forum too track caddy yO!:

Found this thread as just inherited my Dads Mk2 / 9K Caddy and proving difficult to get hold of parts and information - everyone now moved on to the Mk3 and beyond!
