Hello again, Following up from my other topic - ive decided to stick to the idea of a cub. Just after some info really. This is the kind of thing I want to emulate: What I'm wanting to know really, is where to get forks as fitted to that bike, that don't cost in excess of £700 like the ones I keep finding do. Also, I'm looking for where to get similar wheels to the ones fitted. Many thanks! Jono.

Wheels look like standard cub to me, just with fat tyres. Forks hmm, bit more tricky. I'm not sure what will fit without mods as the head tube is a long un on a cubbie. We have fitted MX front ends on these off old yz/cr 80's, had to weld in the cub steering stem to the bottom yoke off the donner bike. I've got some pics somewhere but can't find them at the mo.

Well thats a japanese bike, so more than likely they have a HUGE aftermarket scene, much like they do with mini's, they have more cool spares than we do - and we're the country that manufactured them!.
I'm just wondering where i can get a similar look. The wheels arent standard, normal cub wheels are much bigger.

Let me add, i need longer things to hold the rear wheels on.
The spaced out rear wheels is part of the look, i cant think of what its called (swing arm and strut are whats coming to mind, but i doubt its that!).
Cheers.

Standard cub 90 wheels are 17 inch. Maybe they put smaller rims on (custom built wheels) I have some cub spares by the way, wheels, fuel tank, front forks.

They look like standard 17" rims to me, forks could be made out of nsr80 legs with a calliper mounting lug cut off shortening the legs is no big problem for and engineering company. The most difficult thing about achieving this look the the swingarm, extending the pressed steel c90 one will be really hard since it tapers down as it goes, might be much easier if you made a new one out of box section? (it is called a swingarm). i like the look of the standard leading link legs, might not get a fat tyre between em tho..

Would BSA Bantam forks possibly work? And i know what you mean about the swingarms being difficult, i had that plan in the back of my mind, just didnt know if it would be strong enough... I was hoping that something off another bike may fit, it being longer. But i wouldnt know which bikes to look at.

honda cg125 forks fit... i did it to a c50 years back... also put a motohispania 2stroke in it haha.... try monkeybikeuk for some decent parts that fit..... reasonable prices too... if you want cheaper engines.. look on ebay and alike for crashed pitbikes.... the 110 lumps in em are usually 4 speed manual rather than 3 speed clunk box... Ive got a 60's honda c200 for sale btw cheap too lol

Not personally interested in a C200, but they do look nice . Theres definately a market out there! So CG125 will swap on and look somewhat similar to the ones up there? If so, brilliant .

Just had a look at some pictures, they look the ticket! I don't think the swing arms are lengthened, i think they're off a different bike. I looked at the CG125's swing arms and its not them, but its something similar. Ideas?

looks like c200 ones tbh... if you look at this pic... it seems like a c200 swingarm with chopped shock mounts.. and they mount further back on cub frames than c200/sport bike frames anyway... so would give the wheel that space from the frame.... good luck finding a set tho ... I can measure mine if you like? (the swingarm )

Ahaha! no innuendo there at all . Yeah, go ahead and measure the swingarm, tbh though i think ill have to make some out of solid metal bar or something.

As mentioned previously, early CG125 forks fit as do H100. We used the CG125 forks when we were do a moped mayhem race, they do work well.
Cheers,
Stu.
