I've been a couple of times, and loved it 1st time was in a convoy of 3 Minis & the 2nd was just me and a mate in my prelude. I LOVE your Mini! Since seeing it in a Mini Mag years ago. Didn't your girlfriend have it finished for you or something? Looked a spot tidier than that though.

I'm by no means saying it isnt worth going! Its definitely something every petrol head should do doing, but don't expect to go over there, spend the weekend driving round the ring perfecting your lines and driving fast. Grab passenger laps with the experienced drivers, going round the ring in round 8 minutes in an Impreza Spec-C driven by a guy who goes over there ever few weekends, overtaking everything including ring taxi's, is probably the most memorable experience of my life and you don't risk mullering your own car Alternatively, try a track day at Cadwell... its gained the nickname 'Mini Nurburgring'!

You'll get much more out of it if you go with someone who's at least reasonably familiar with the track. It's really not much fun when you don't know it, especially in a fast car. Also try to avoid going there when you know there will be a lot of bikers. Bikes + cars + 'Ring is even less fun. And it gets very slippy in the wet, not like a normal race circuit. So you need to think fairly carefully about the car setup, and make sure you've got decent tyres etc.
It's a great tourist venue though, so make sure you can watch some racing on either circuit when you're there, and plan enough time to mix it with other visitors and sample the beer etc. It's beautiful scenery too.

(the owner is a mate, and I paid for all the repairs) and yes, it was (and is now) a very tidy car
