I have to ask about the steering wheel and stalks, I'm guessing they are going to be changed?

got just a few little Questions for ya, have you taken on the drive for the speedo yet, and, how did you tackle this, and second, how on earth are you gonna connect the intake manifold to a filter, you don't have ANY room left on the TB side...... just wondering..... and, for what it's worth, GREAT VAN !!!!! Ha, ha, yes its getting well cool now that the Retro Power Boys are on the "Home Stretch" !!. Wait until you see the Final Photo Shoot, which wont be too long in the making now !!. Not sure about the Stalks yet, but I am actually on the lookout for a Replacement Steering Wheel, and have advertised on both R/R & Rods n Sods for one, but no luck as yet. I need to get in touch with a guy who "may" possibly have a Universal Steering Wheel Boss knocking around, as his CF Custom Van is one of, if not THE best known MK1 CF Custom in the Country, and certainly the fastest and most powerful !!. But if anyone knows of a nice Steering Wheel which will bolt straight on, please get in touch asap. Cheers, Dave.

Chris The Van will be fitted with a very nice Bespoke Custom Electronic Speedo which I bought off Ebay for £90.00, and is capable of being connected to practically any 4, 6 or 8 Cylinder Engine, and this also obviously eliminates the need to muck around getting a "Hybrid" Speedo Cable made. The Mirror Stainless Steel Engine Cover has a Recess cut out, and a "Bulge" Fabricated & Fitted, which houses the Elbow of the Intake Manifold, and there is now a nice K & N Induction Filter Kit fitted to the end of it !!. ;D

I think you meant to say your Tacho is compatible with 4/6/8 cyl engines. The speedo has it's own wheel sensor and pickup, so again is fine for any application, you just program in the wheel circumference. (top tip for a REALLY cheap speedo is to use a push-bike one! you can get all sorts of cool trip computer functions and they are only a few quid - kit car boys all use 'em... Dave wanted something a bit more robust and better-looking on this project though) Yes, there is room for the intake pipe. As Dave said, there is a fabricated bulge in the engine cover, which allows space for a 135 degree silicone elbow to tuck the MAF and filter in above the front of the engine. Dash is completed now - fill get some snaps up shortly

Ah that dashboard is fantastic, love the engraved letters! Do you sit angled whilst driving this? looks like all the pedals are too the right of the steering column & that engine intrudes into the legspace. maybe it's just the angle of the photo

Do you sit angled whilst driving this? looks like all the pedals are too the right of the steering column & that engine intrudes into the legspace. maybe it's just the angle of the photo Effectively, as its now an Auto, you now have the Standard CF Pedals, Minus the Clutch. (Although I have also bought a Custom Alloy Billet Throttle Pedal which will be fitted). The Floor has had to be cut out a little to allow adequate room for the V8 to be fitted comfotably, hence the Newly Fabricated Mirror Stainless Engine Cover, but there is still room to place your left foot on the L/Hand Side of the Steering Column. In addition, a "Foot Rest" has also been Fabricated from Mirror Stainless, and attached to the side of the engine cover, so that you can place your left foot on it, and not have to have it flat on the floor. It works very well, and even my Size 11`s have adequate room !!. ;D

Blimey, this forum moves fast, took me ages to find the thread again! Anyway, working like a madman at the moment to try and get this done for Billing VBOA show. Complete rewire from scratch finished. Interior now also complete except for the doorcards. It was a good moment sticking a battery on for the first time and firing all the electrics up - thankfully everything worked first time So a quick sum up of the interior: -Black & Charcoal alcantara trim throughout, including full headlining. -Pair of 15" subs powered by Kicker 650.4 Amp with Power Cap in custom built enclosure. -Black carpet up front with stainless steel edge trimming throughout. -Custom made dash, painted to match exterior, with lettering for switches engraved through. -Digital speedo -Remote alarm which also operates the driver's door release -Custom demist system, intakes through n/s inner wing, into fabricated stainless heater box (on passenger kick panel), and blows via 'inline' blowers -Remote control RGB LED lighting around corners of roof, around amp installation and around engine -Jaguar visors with illuminated mirrors -TFT widescreen connected to rear camera and freeview tuner -Alpine 9-series Headunit (4x60W) powering JBL 6x9's (rear) and JBL 6" rounds (front doors) -B&M shifter on custom mount -Bucket seats on custom mounts -Fabricated Stainless Steel engine cover Water plumbing is now complete, as well as all the engine wiring. Should be at the point of being able to fire up the engine in the next few days I think ;D

I love this van.
As a geeky aside, Those subs you've used are monsters for the price - I'm running a 10" one (that cost £25) at double it's rated power and it loves it, sounds brilliant. Not one for brand snobs, but amazing for the price.

This van is still amazing! It's turning out a lot more "high-tech" than I would've imagined it, but it looks fantastic. Truly a 70's van brought into the 21st century!
