Okay, I'm desperate to start a new project and get away from Mini's. So, I've been considering converting:
MKI Astra with a 2.0ltr 16V Turbo from a Calibra Drop 40mm Flare / tub arches SS Exhaust New paint Leather interior from Calibra Turbo etc.
Anyone had experience of MKI Astra's / know of a website deicated to them?
Seen two for sale in the back of Retro Car Mag (March) and am considering giving them a ring to see if they're still available.........?

Yeah I know - he's so my idol............. I'm just getting bored of the Mini scene - just need to do something different, and Vauxhaul parts are just really accessible. I also thought about a MKI Fiesta with a 1700 Crossflow or Ford V6.............

Either would be a good choice! Nice crisp 70s styling, brought up to date with the right wheels...
Of course, I'm a Mk1 Golf person myself...

Yeah, wouldn't mind a MKI Golf powered by a Corrado V6....

Yeah, wouldn't mind a MKI Golf powered by a Corrado V6.... Nice thought! I've seen one and it's a VERY tight fit into the engine bay! Quite understeery too by all accounts, the VR6 lump is a lot heavier than the original 1800 8valve. A common conversion is the 20Valve Turbo engine out of the newer Golfs, very rapid! Mine's a MkII 1.8 16valve lump, when funds permit I'll go for a 2.0 (or 2.1) bottom end... Bit more torquey than at the moment!

hmmm DubSport have created a couple of twin engined Golfs, I don't recall having seen pics of the gear linkage setup but I'll have a look around, see what I can find!
