I don't know if anyone has a clue what I'm talking about but when I was a kid at car shows I used to do rocker cover racing. I won a trophy once too lol ;D quote myself lol how times have changed Never seen or heard of this before (but then I do live a very sheltered life) but this just opens up all sorts of WOW when you think of all the amazing rocker/cam covers you can find these days! I reckon this could be an awesome 'addition' to the weekend. Show them off then race them. I'm guessing there would be width/length/weight restrictions? They are SO cool. I want to make one now. Like RIGHT now. LOL!

I think the rocker cover racing would be a brilliant idea in so much as pretty much everyone can build one, anyone can race one and haynes are less likely to have a H&S heart attack lol Plus we all have pleanty of time to get started ;D

And you are right, the rocker cover racing is an easy formula to mimic, or subscribe to.

Whilst we are on the subject of possible things to do at some shows i have seen little tracks for RC drifting. They are normal cars with special tires ordered from the states. I have had a go of this and if anyone else has they will know how much fun it is!!
Just an idea for the kids (and big kids) thats all.

I used to do RC drifting and it is brillient!
Got to have a 4wd car though to do it.
You can cheet, instead of buying expensive tyres, just wrap electrical tape around normal tyres and there you go! Drift tyres that are better than the 'propper' ones.

Rocker cover racing is a funny thing, very much associated with the traditional hot-rod and muscle-car crowd, or at least it is in Australia. It seems to be stuck back in the old days, as the last time I saw a rocker cover race at a car show most of the participants were over 50 and had probably been introduced to the 'sport' of rocker cover racing back when the concept was fairly new! Having said that it's a cool activity and means that everyone can build something. You can even keep it on your desk afterwards!

Lewis Electrical tape is too slippery don't you think? i had a go with that once all the tires were gone and it was a lot harder to control. For RRG it would be something everyone can do but the only problem is its nowhere near as entertaining to watch as the wacky races would be! Cant we do both? ;D

I found the lower grip better for my cars and setups etc, although I guess it depends what type and setup car you are bolthing them too.
