Been a while since I've updated this, what with the blogs and everything else. Have loads to post, but for now will put up some piccies from the PPC E21 shoot of my car. Must say it looked a little disheveled compared to some of the quality E21s from 'our' forum, but then it is a 133,000 mile beater. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/robjobuk/E21%20Photoshoot/DSCF1885.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/robjobuk/E21%20Photoshoot/DSCF1871.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/robjobuk/E21%20Photoshoot/DSCF1867.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/robjobuk/E21%20Photoshoot/DSCF1866.jpg) All hail The Forgotten BMW, we doff our bonnets caps to you! ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/robjobuk/E21%20Photoshoot/DSCF1898.jpg) It wasn't all good news for me though; the Fondmetal/Toyo combo I'd fitted just the previous night pulled one of my front arches out slightly, which is the cars way of telling me I'll need to pull out a pair of my NOS front dampers as the current ones have become too bouncy through age. That, and when I jacked up the rear to put the wheels on, I noticed the halfshaft boots look like they can be carbon-dated to the birth of Christ. Time to rebuild another set from the bunker...

I'm really liking these. Not the kind of car that i would have considered "Old" or "Retro" yet time really has moved on a pace and they DO look, ummm, oldy worldy, if that makes any kind of sense. Are they that easy to look after/work on? You make it sound like they are easy peasy to look after! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

As with any car, they're easy IF you know your subject matter. Jobs that might take a first-time owner hours might take me half the time, purely because I've had four of the buggers and I know exactly what goes wrong and where. Having said that, a good general knowledge of motor mechanics, basic tools and a workshop manual will mean you can do most jobs yourself. Parts like track rod ends, dampers etc. are quite cheap from eBay, Walloth & Nesch et al and even the dealers can be quite cheap on some parts.

I'm a mechanical retard and can still have a go with the most basic tasks on an e21. Personally, I think they're great cars to hone one's skills or, as in my case, attempt to get some.

THE AMAZO PARALLAXhelped to pull an engine out recently... Not my greatest effort, not helped either by a stubborn exhaust and a bellhousing bolt that put up more resistance than the Libyan people, but it got done. Thanks for all of your help MIBs, much appreciated. If you've read MIB's thread, you might be wondering just where the 2.7 engine went, Well it didn't leave the workshop, as that's my workshop. It's destined for Baron Luger himself, a useful upgrade from the standard 2.5 I was going to put in. And a stepping stone (hopefully) for the 3.0 litre M20... ![](http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5106/5741487974_b6ba2550a9_b.jpg) ![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2381/5740932401_e89ff0e20c_b.jpg) The engine now has the crack team of Amazo technicians (well OK, me) prodding and poking it to new heights of power. Mwa ha ha.

Bought this cheap off eBay recently; a little Bozo 'DDM' style project to keep me occupied while The Bride is away being repaired, The Luger is up in the air with no running gear and I get to work on Lil' Bulldog's MOT work. More to come. ![](http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6111/6243256634_12bede4362_b.jpg)

E30 looks very clean, but E21s are cooler.

E30 looks very clean, but E21s are cooler. Sorry and with respect, but given your track record on 80's BMWs, your input is not required on my build thread.

Nice ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) did you buy it from 'parts unknown' ? Oh, good man! Yes,it is named after Bubbles' wrestling persona (didn't click what you said at first). It was either call it that or Steve French... And for the benefit of non-Trailer Park Boys fans:

Do you know what Amazo? I've just locked your build thread. You've consistently changed the title so that it doesn't match with the majority of the titles in Reader's Rides, including the latest one which contains a (sort of ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) swear word and now you want to control who can use it based on a 'track record' that, given your linked example, means nothing more than a person didn't accept your blinkered views in a way that you found acceptable. I've got far better things to do than play cat and mouse with your thread titles and moderate a fictitious feud you seem determined to believe exists.
