What an awesome, awesome night.Yet again RR members showed their mettle by turning out in their droves despite the bitterly cold weather to worship at the altar of all things wheeled, old and modified. I don't think we've had a better turnout at The Ace for a RR event, with the exception of the first Summer Slam. And some from so far away too, TonyBMW and his mate Gordon travelled all the way down from Cumbria to partake in a fry-up, Oldbus and GTVsaviour will have notched up over 2000 miles by the time they get back to Belgium/Germany in the early hours. My personal thanks to kevfromwales who graciously chauffered me down there and back and who is as I type this travelling back up the M6 to North Wales in yet another epic snowstorm. Top bloke, top company. What a thrill for me also to get the chance to meet up with old friends and make still more new ones. Better get some pics up before the Red Bull wears off......there are pretty low-res as I've just quickly uploaded them via Facebook. I'll process/upload the best ones to Flickr tomorrow sometime. Enjoy. Great to see/hear this back on the road, with a shiny new Twin-Cam heart too. Seth, you can be justifiably proud of your engineering skills. Jonny69=hero. The rear tyre of his daily driver. ;D Very clean Bimmer. Love the rims. This sounded as glorious as ever, leaving the car park. That straight-six makes a noise like tearing calico. Marina in non-piano shocker. ;D Bryn's Range-Rover sits sullenly in the winter gloom, exuding manevolence. Words can't convey just how immaculate this Saab is. Gorgeous. Dugong's old Piazza spending its last hours on these shores, before travelling to Germany to donate it's guts to a worthier cause. Shonky pic of glorious-sounding E-Type, that was outposed leaving the car park by this: Edd's Wartburg. Everything RR is about. BigKris' Jetta. Car of the night for me, I LOVED it. HOW clean? Loved this too. Variety. The spice of RR. 'Dare To Be Different'. What you can't see from this angle is how low it is. Your nan's t*ts would stand NO chance. I loved it. Minty stock 3-series sounded lovely. How long before these 400-series Volvos begin to rise from obscurity? This one was super-clean. Another quality purcase by Mystery Machine. You'll be needing all that flat space to hang the awards you won, Bruce. And rightly so, for me you epitomise what this place is all about. Matt Jones whips his newly-purchased Bimmer backwards across the Ace's hallowed asphalt. That's all for now, my creaky old body's shutting down. More tomorrow. My personal appreciation goes out to HotWire, Rmad and all the moderators for making and keeping this place what it is. Retro-Rides. STILL best in the world.

Great to see you last night Brian. I can't believe we've woken up to another 2-3" of snow here this morning! Hope everyone managed to get back safely. Herald's maiden voyage has been pronounced a success ;D

Big Kris's Jetta gets car of the night for me too. Flat on the floor rolling on tiny skinnies wins for me Can't see the pictures at the moment. Assuming it's because of the work firewall so will have to wait until lunchtime to check back in.

Great to see everyone, to catch up with those i already knew, and also to put a few more faces to those I hadn't met before I can't believe we've woken up to another 2-3" of snow here this morning! Hope everyone managed to get back safely. Ditto - especially all those of you who drove in from outside London, and had long journeys home!

I had a great night .. and considering the quality of our preparation it went pretty well .. also it was nice to get a prize ... I'll get the results online (in the wiki) asap. Thanks to everyone that came out and all those that voted. Congratulations to the winners all well deserved. Big thanks to rmad who managed to print up the awards inbetween doing a billion and one things. Also Oldbus who helped collate the nominations into a form that meant I could actually make the voting booth (I forgot to mention this last night). Here is hoping that 2010 is another year worthy of excellent nominations.

What a great night Spent most of the night meeting people and chatting about all things cool. Really good to meet Bruce - I will make it down to A52 at somepoint mate, probably with Andrew in tow too. Had a nice chat with Dave Aston too. Good to meet you mate. The one thing that made the night was meeting John (gtvsaviour) though. Top bloke and massive huge big thanks to him for all the bits he gave me for the Dolomite. He got one box of tat out of the van and I thought 'Woah, theres loads of bits in there!', then I turned around and he was back in the van getting more boxes and bags full of stuff! Cheers mate, was really good meeting you and I really appreciate the bits Top night! And I actually overtook someone on the motorway in the Metro! ;D Edd
