Hi guys, heres my new daily drive, swapped her for my Supra Turbo with 2002gimp (cheers dude ;D hows the beast?)
Absolutely love it, handles great, been lowered a decent amount and the alleycats fill the arches lovely jubbley
She's only just approaching 40 000 miles and has loads of history, the old fella who owned it has written in a little book, every single fuel stop from 1976 when it was brand new to late 1999 when he sold it! It lists mileage, date and amount of gallons of fuel it took without missing one fuel stop!! Came with original bill of sale which states he part ex'd his Austin Princess for it and got £500 quid back (the first few pages of the fuel stop book are of the Princess ;D)
Loads more cool history including the pre delivery inspection sheet, loads of bedtime reading there!
When I got her the exhaust was snapped in half but I got her up on the ramps and fixed it with a scotch broth tin can and good as new!
On ramps for exhaust fixage
I use her every day to get to work and (touch wood) runs like a dream, even better now the exhaust is fixed, was a bit down on power before. Has had leccy ignition fitted, and I'm loving it in this freezing weather! Feel a bit bad about the amount of curse word being flung under it from the roads but try to get as much off as poss at night, it starts instantly even when it was below -8 the other day!
Ive dropped a few psi out the rear tyres and its coping brilliantly with the freezing conditions, warms up in about 5 mins. Only rather annoying thing is the rubber door seal split the other day because the door was frozen shut!! Ill make some new ones though soon.
Yeah so anyway, there she is! Future plans include getting the wing and bonnet and door sprayed blue and replacing the drivers door as the bottom bit has warped with a bit of welding. Gonna give it a full fluid overhaul soon, I want to get a good stereo for it too. Other than that I'm looking forward to getting all the paint done so I can wax it properly! Gonna get the Turbo Capri back on the road asap but keep the Mazda as my daily driver
