Some of you may remember that recently i built a model GT40 to try and break the monotony of unemployment... but i bought, built, painted and finished it in one day, so the next day i was bored again, and idle hands being what they are i dropped Hornby an e-mail saying that there was no sticker to make the front valance orange, and no paint either, and it clearly shows it as being orange on the box. Sent the e-mail and promptly forgot all about it. So i was more than excited when the postman bought me this this morning, as an apology from Hornby ;D ... ... now i wounder what will be missing from this one

hehe, just noticed that it hasn't got the boot sticker... now, does my concious kick in, or do i go for the whole range haha. don't abuse the hornby customer service tough, as it wont be there if you do i remember a few years back, at the goodwood revival hornby had a scalextric track setup and the fastest time of the day took home F1 set, and a box set with 3 GT40s from the 66 (?) lemans, which where all grubby. I obviously had a go... and £7 worth of trys later i walked away with FTD and £200 of scalextric. I did have a unfair advantage in that i spent most saturday nights in the loft with my bro and some mates driving our 4 lane track (it was about 6 x 3 meters full of track) whilst drinking, and enjoying herbal passtimes and listening to reggae. unfortunatly the track is in a stack at the moment as the loft is full of car parts - but as soon as my bro finds a new flat with a big enough room in it ( needs to be pretty big if you want to fit in seats as well as track lol) we will see be on the road / track again. When we bought all the track we actually bought the shop out of most bits of track!!!

Just got an e-mail from Hornby:
Dear Mr ****** With reference to your recent email, unfortunately due to the complexity of the front valance shape it was not possible to manufacgture a transfer to cover this area. As a small sign of compensation to offet your disappointment, we will send an alternative model free of charge. Kind regards. Customer Care

nice, try Ninco track - stainless rails, better construction and uses a power supply to each lane so you don't get 'surges' when the other person lets off / comes off, and operates on a slightly higher voltage (which blows the bulbs in scalextric headlamps! doh! but otherwise is fine)

Scalex Sport uses stainless rails, a supply for each lane and runs on 16v...
And it has more curve variations...And can actually be bought for cheap easily.
