Up until new years eve, I was Mr. Hunky Dory. Then, I checked on the FavorAt to see when the MOT needed booked. Apparently it ran up on Dec 30, not Jan 5th as I thought. So, quickly a plan was needed. I had lost my MOT prep time for the Rat on mejor toothache which took two days to resolve (by pulling the brute out). The plan was, fix this mayo making machine, which was still MOTd and Taxed... So my New Years Eve, a party in its own right and also my brothers birthday, was spent in -2 stripping the head off. New Years Day was spent putting it back on. It didn't work, and thanks to Daverapid and Ron I didn't take a hammer to it, and the next day discovered a bent pushrod, quickly sorted. Then it froze over, and when my mum tried to use it the next day it spewed all it's water out. Unamusing. Now, today, eventually, sorted, but that's it for me and Felicias. Far too unreliable - time for another Peugeot. Thankfully, we've had this to tide us over, lent by a guy I've met once via Gumtree... Which I am due to give back yesterday or today, compounding the problems... Now, it's all not all bad, is it? There are about 4 or 5 cars Motd but not taxed, so I could use one of them, right? No, because the paperwork hasn't gone through yet with the delayed postage and I'm still waiting for my Insurance papers, and my cover note is out of date, so I can't tax anything. Not a big problem unless you work beside a Police Station... which I do. Thankfully there is one car I have besides the Felicia that is taxed and Motd. It's even 4x4 and Diesel - perfect... oh no, wait... Perfect timing for the Shoguns fuel pump to go. A week of that, and Monday comes and I'm facing a week of being unable to get to work... and suddenly I'm rescued! This is what you could call the 'company car' although it's broken too, but less broken than the other stuff. Add that on top of all my money being tied up in cars & parts that nobody wants to buy in the depths of winter, and you have one irritable and annoyed munchkin. On the plus side, I give the Toyota back tomorrow, and the Insurance papers should arrive and I can tax the Estelle... The perfect tool for these conditions! *Apologies to anyone and everyone I've shouted at, btw *

Know exactly how you feel, as every vehicle we have has decided to stop working for one reason or another....
the alternator on the Fiorino has packed has decided its not always charging the exhaust on the Panda has fallen off the Focus has failed its mot (brake pads and discs) and the Toledo has nothing wrong with it, but its tucked up for winter ;D

Think its called sods law! Its always the way that as soon as cold hits, things go wrong. I try and do things before winter...brake pads etc. At the age of 42 I have finally realised that squeezing the last 1/4 of a brake pad is often not the best plan, and I try so keep a spare alternator too. Still have winter dramas though:( Headgaskets and clutches are the wort winter job I reacon....especially on the roadside. Got nice garage with pit now-that helps:)

My mojo is low too, after not fixing the Sierra (first mistake) I've owned a Rover 216 (second mistake) and a Volvo 360 GLT (third mistake) both of which I enjoyed to start with but really depressed me cause neither was a worthy replacement to the Sierra. Now I 've brought an E30 318i with a broken engine and I've sold the Volvo, so I've got no car and the bus aint fun at this time of year. Plus I've got very little money as I've not got a full time job at the moment Still I've only got my self to blame On the plus side, I give the Toyota back tomorrow, and the Insurance papers should arrive and I can tax the Estelle... The perfect tool for these conditions! I'm sure the Estelle will be awesome fun in the current weather conditions ;D

was felling abit like that with my retro fleet balancing and the Gf friend whinging about not having a new car. some things that have cheered me
1 .It snowed so Range rover really useful and unstopptable.
2.The bloke that messed about for months about buying the celica then went and bought a mk6 escort instead stood helplessly as it slide down a hill llocked .
3.Watching my freind sign up to financance on a new car for his misses thats going to cost him more monthly than some of mine cost outright.
Stick in there it will be worth it again when the suns shining

The numpties at my garages didn't clear the drains and it flooded the whole place - leaving a small(ish) hole in the corner of the floor. Quick inspection revealed a massive cavernous problem under the very thin concrete I've been working on. They're in today with a 'specialist' with cameras to see if the whole place needs ripping out and a total re-vamp. If it goes badly I'm losing the garage for the foreseeable future God knows where the projects and all the tat will go! On the plus side - I'm gonna be a dad for the 1st time in June....... ;D

I feel a bit left out! My Audi has been faultless all winter (touch wood) But i have been just as grumpy. This is day 4 off the ciggies, and the coughing as my lungs purge 5 years of tobacco has begun!
