Charlies aston has not been taxed since the end of 2008! The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for 163 ELT are: Date of Liability 01 12 2008 ...Vehicle Status Unlicensed wonder where it is? That'll be at a dealer then. Don't know if anyone else has thought this but there seem to be a lot of high-end classic cars advertised in things like Classic and Sportscar at the moment. Seems anyone with anything of real value wants to off-load it currently. DB5s are silly money... £150k.

Its my end of term film. I watched it with year 7's and 9's on the last day befor the hols. I too consider it part of their education. Lol ;D My ICT classes watched it for educational reasons, along with Die Hard 4.0! Both films involve computer hacking ;D Have also watched Wall-e & I Robot (Artificial Intelligence), Oceans 13 and War Games (Hacking), Terminator 3(AI and Viruses) and Weird Science (Kelly Le Brock!), but these lack Retro content!

I remeber reading somewhere that they had to BUY the Mini-Coopers from BLMC, as the stuffed-shirts in charge in Longbridge wouldn't let them have free cars.
I think that red E-Type now belongs (or did a few years ago, anyway) to reknowned classic car journo and Jaguar guru Philip Porter, who lives not that far from me.
Sewer pipes are my favourite bit.....they are now under a housing estate in Bagington, Coventry!!!!

Fiat offered them as many Fiat 500's as they needed. *IF* they changed the hero car to a 500 but Fiat also invested massively in the film! Could have been an even bigger marketing success but typical boardroom antics killed that - the film flopped in the States as well as it was pitched as a more serious heist film! Rysz.

Yeah Fiat said they fund the entire film but they the producers dicided it was an us V them film and it had to be Minis. The sewer bit is great. They tried to do a full loop of the pipe but on the time they nearly managed, there was a sign or something at the top and the car just hit that and landed on its roof.

I'm sure I haerd somewhere that they chucked a fair few over the edge on the dvd commentry heres a fact for you guys Gold cost about $39 per troy ounce in 1968[8] so four million dollars in gold bars would have weighed about 3200 kg (7000 lb), requiring each of the three Minis to carry about 1070 kg (2300 lb) in addition to the driver and passenger. Since a 1968 Mini only weighs 630 kg (1400 lb),[9] each of these diminutive vehicles would have had to carry over 1½ times its own weight in gold. What a great Italian Job fact. Love it. Those poor Minis must have got very tired.

there was only ever 14 actual minis used, and they had to pat for them, the original writers were given permission off fiat to have as many new fiat 500's as they want for free, but instead they decided to buy 14 minis, none of which were actual coopers, i have it all written in an old book somewhere stating how many of each car was actually used

That was filmed in the Coventry to Birmingham sewer that was being built at the time. One chap brought all three mini reg numbers at auction a few years ago an is building replicas, thing they have a Bedford coach too.
