Right, got this at the start of November in exchange for the Estelle. It's an 87, 4 owner 130 Rapid. In white! No engine atm, plans are to get a 136 in the new year and rebuild it. Drop it in, get everything working, have it Taxed and tested for October and start driving it when I turn 17. Have some curse word pics of when it had snow all over it. excuse my finger Sparten would you say? NEVER! I will lower it, steal buy some jupiters off S_S and it needs a respray, I have thought recently about doing it in the Works Estelle colours, saw this recently and thought "YES!" Whadda ya think? ;D

I think if I was to do it like the picture I'd need it to have a bit more go so a <s>1.9 Pug D-Turbo </s> K series 1.8 as they bolt straight up and are quite light. ;D

That's brilliant. Firstly, you need the front as low as the back. Secondly, you need some wide compomotive CX's. Thirdly, it wasn't just a mock-up...

AFAIK Nothing else bolts up, not 100% though.
I wouldn't mind if there was a group buy set up to buy me some Compomotive CX's. Honestly, I'm just that selfless. ;D
I am almost definitely doing that colour scheme now, engine, arches and other stuff that needs upgraded in a few years time. ;D

Used to be a pale blue race replica 130 in Maidstone years ago. It had a hot 1600 crossflow in it and looked the mutts nuts. My pal built a replica Banham Porsche 550 spyder with a kit that used the Skoda floorpan etc. As far as I can recall the 1750 Alfa lump will bolt right in, although I may not be 100%. Certainly worth checking it out. These cars are so rare now and have bags of potential. www.madabout-kitcars.com/pictures/64/356+Sports_130+Spyder

Certainly worth checking it out. These cars are so rare now and have bags of potential. To make a Banham Spyder requires the destruction of a structurally sound RWD Skoda. There are some kits that only use the mechanicals - however these need the floorpan and this means inevitably a good Skoda gets cut up to make it. Twincam Alfa/Fiat engines go in with not a great amount of work but it isn't a straight bolt-in!

I'm not suggesting it was a good use of an old Skoda although, in my pals defence, it was done at a time when no-one wanted old Skodas and there were plenty around. (I also said he used the floorpan) Obviously, they are far rarer now which is why its so good to see this one still in one piece.

just make an adptor plate to put what ever motor you want in the car.
as an alternative to compmo's, try wellers, there are loads around, dirt cheap, and avaliable in loads of different sizes and offsets for 4x130pcd

I've got a Rapid sat in my garage that i'm still undecided what to do with, and it will be engine-less shortly.
A local friend used to run a white Rapid with a flat four Subaru engine in the rear, i may see if he still has the adaptor plate.

Wellers aren't easy to get in 4x130 any more as the factory won't produce them, so they're sought after and difficult to get, as well as being awkwardly sized for the Skoda. Not to mention they don't look like CXs/the desired look of the car...

i have loads of wellers in 4x130, different offsets and widths in 14 and 15 inch, there are loads about, i usually get mine for a tenner each or less, i changed my ghia from wide 5 to 4x130 for the ease of getting wellers. a quick blasting and some paint and they are like new. they are a good race wheel, as they arnt too bad for weight for the price, and can be hammered back to shape if you smack a curb pluss if your not happy with the offset you can just get the welds machined off and reweld the centre
