So folks what's been going on in your parking spaces in the last year? One year ago yesterday I appeared to be missing a car, a red Anglia to be precise Not here: Not here either: Or here: Or in there, but I see someone made themself comfortable there instead : Where was it? Ah yes, it was in for some post-resto finishing work at Burnham Autos: I lost motivation in the project a long time before and decided to spend some savings and get it finished. A few weeks later I drove it home, MOT'd and ready for me to put finishing touches on it: I sold the Pop in February to jamesp. After many many engine rebuilds I decided the old lump wasn't up to my level of tuning so I put it back to standard, well, almost standard and as far as I know it's still going strong. This is it leaving as I actually shed a tear. I'd had a lot of fun in that car and was sad to see it go. The Anglia looked like that for a few months until I stuck some of the shiny bits back on it, drove it around in all weather, had a lot of fun in the snow and rain and rebuilt the engine for RRG09 which was way overdue. Just days before the gathering my engine bay still looked like this, spread round the garage : Then it blew up on the way and the last time I let it out in the sunlight was here, on the side of the M3: In September I finally got a new job and needed a car to get me out of a stitch so I combined practicality with celebration and brought this home: And apart from a bit of spannering that's all I've had to do on this car. It's been a very quiet year for me, mainly due to lack of work and uncertainty and I fully intend to make a lot more use of 2010. I'm planning to get down and fix the engine in the Anglia, ideal time to do it now it's turned a bit cooler and once that's running I've got a few ideas for the rod

my year started with the continued ownership of this (turbo diesel scirocco) after a while i got fed up with it never starting when i needed it to and lost all interest in it which led to this and used the coilovers and other good bits on another mk2 rocco (GT2 auto) i had just bought to use as a long running project, ended up converting it to 16v and fitting twin 45's before losing interest and swapping it for another car... the black scirocco was replaced by a mk2 jetta 1.3 that was just going to be a daily for a bit, but i got attached to it (and still have it) and its come along way since its standard days when i first got it. converted to turbo diesel, fk coilovers, front and back corrado seats, golf front end, big bumpers and arch kit fitted ect ect. and here's the car i swapped the green scirocco for, its a mk1 scirocco storm, it was complete apart from an engine, since then i've fitted a 1.8 8v golf gti engine, and the coilovers i kept from the green one, i've also started on the body work ready for a full colour change respray and i've lined up a set of hydraulics's for it for in the new year

Just scared myself a bit by thinking about what I've had this year Started the year with this - still high on my list of favorite vehicles I've ever owned Sold it in March and bought this - another ex-Feuerwehr vee dub which I had for a while before selling to a mate....... Then I had this - an ex-AA van, massively useful and I enjoyed taking it from builder's van to halfway decent Got bored (as you do) and wanted something quicker so got a GTi turbo (still in use as my daily driver) then got hold of a car I've been after for 9 years - last of the proper Mini's - one owner and only 8k miles when I got it ;D I will NEVER sell this one bought this off a mate at work but quickly decided it wasn't for me so sold it on and bought this instead nearly the end of the year so that's probably my lot for 2009

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

At the end of december last year I sold this 88 E30 325is The plan was to pick up an E21 to replace it but all of the nice ones for sale the week before dissapeared and nothing new came up in time so with money burning a hole in my pocket I followed my heart and not reason and brought this home Cleaned it up, built a motor and got it back on the road as my everyday hooligan And as of last month I started back in on my long term 76 rabbit project I would like to get the engine bay and interior in paint within the next 2 months so I can start reassembly.

OK, this year I started with the Corolla Sold that and bought the Laurel Sold that and bought the Lexus which I sold and took the Saab as P/ex and I am hopefully doing a deal to trade that for something else as we speak. Maybe that will be in before 2009 is out and I'll update this then. Or not. The yank stuff has all just moved about the usual orbit of the broken cars.

My year started with this in my parking space: This was welcomed back into service for my GF after an extensive engine and box rebuild: The Navara became this in Feb: It was replaced by a black Hyundai Santa Fe mummy wagon. I sold this: Bought & sold this: I bought this: I sold this: Started work on this: img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/commited/Merc/merc 140709/90298063.jpg[/img] drove it to the RR:G 6 weeks later looking like this: I replaced the Santa Fe with a 08 Saab 9-3 in June. I then recently bought this as a last hurrah before xmas:
