Why oh why do I just love such crappy cars? Today for sale I came across a 1989 (1990 model) Dodge Dynasty (pronounced "die nasty, probably quite appropriately if I ever own one). As far as I can tell it has no redeeming features at all. The Dodge Dynasty website even feels to need to say "trying to prove to the world that these cars don't suck" which is never a good sign. YET I WANT IT . I cannot say for why, the Saab is probably "technically" a better car, but that orrible septic is calling to me. So, does anyone have any pearls of wisdom on acquiring one of these monstrosities of the mediocre? I guess I'm looking at the transatlantic contingent, and I believe I can hear Norm crying already... This one has the 3.3 V6 and the 4 speed auto, which I already have a little "gen" on re: limp home mode but this appears mostly to be about not using Dextron II in the trans. I didn't check if it has it fitted but a power CLOSING trunk was an option on these.

ak - how mcuh is it?
could you not buy it, roll it, then when the trans packs in / motor implodes / door falls off - just dig the saab out and use that note - this plan entails you keeping the saab!

Asking price is ÂŁ750 but as I am probably the only fool dumbass enough to buy it I think I have plenty of negotiation leverage.
Saab needs to go to fund it/make space/insurance/etc.

Akku, I like it!
I reckon it's the sort of car that someone would be pulled over in for suspected DUI, then they'd get out of the car and start shouting a load of abuse at the cops, then half-heartedly try to convince the annoyed policeman that it was all just a mistake and they'll never do it again.

Ohmygod, Alistair.
You and Hirst would bust a nut in a low-brow junkyard over here. Stacks of the milquetoast FWD mid-size pap to which you two gents aspire.
It's like a dagger to my heart that you like this lardy 80's/90's stuff. If you must own a Mopar FWD-er, why can't you round up a turbo 2.2/2.5 version wrapped in an Omni hothatch (like GLH), or Daytona, or a Charger, or even a Spirit R/T.
Can't you change, AK? Isn't there time to turn your life around and follow the path of the contented man? ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

kissing cousins? it's uncanny! It's to me like a design for the 740 which Volvo rejected for being slightly too smooth and rounded (by about 2.37%). I wonder if they had a guy called Bud from Michigan doing work experience round about then? Buy, stick Volvo rims on it. Watch all the confused people wondering what it is!
